How do people usually get back home/to the hotel after the wedding? If it is separate to their venue of course. Like would you ask the company you're hiring your transport from if they would be able to pick you up after the reception or just get a taxi? A lot of people I've asked have said taxi as at that point of the night you won't really care as much haha, but just wanted to get some more opinions

We are hiring a mini bus for those not staying at the venue , but those guests are paying as it works out cheaper than a taxi. That's only because our venue is a place where taxis are hard to come by late at night :)

I wouldn't pay the £300 again to get the the hotel. I would just book an exec taxi..

What would you prefer to do? I think either way is perfectly acceptable. Its personal preference and budget x

What about asking a parent or someone who doesn't/won't be drinking to give you both a lift. That's what I'd do.

People can stay over if they can afford it or near by. If not taxi its really up to your guests how they leave after.
You dint need to.worry about it as it isn't down to.you to sort

we got a cab. if you ask your wedding car people i would imagine they'll charge you quite a lot but then if its in your budget and you want to make it the last special thing from your day go for it. As with all wedding planning, its what you want (with a dollop of what you can afford thrown in)

I've hired a rolls Royce to take me and husband back to the hotel, we're using them as wedding cars during the day and it only worked out £50 more to use them in the evening to take us back too. We're having a sparkler send off and leaving the reception 15 minutes before the end so everyone will see us off c

We got a taxi from our reception to the hotel. It was only up the road but I wasn't walking in my dress lol

My sister will most likely be driving me, my mum and other sister in so we will probably drive us back too, plus a couple of extra people (she has a 7 seater) The rest of our guests basically have their own transport so they can make their way back to ours easily too

We have arranged for a non-drinking guest with a VW transporter to take the wedding party home. Other guests will use taxis. Fortunately there is safe overnight car parking for the cars so that they can be collected the next day.

Let guests sort out their own arrangements to get home. Not your problem

Our wedding party will be staying overnight at the venue so we can have breakfast together the next day

We got a taxi and then found that one of our guests had 'stolen' it in their drunken state and also in the flurry of taxis that arrived for other guests. Ended up stranded outside the venue after it had been locked up, in a small village in the middle of nowhere waiting for a taxi that was never going to arrive whilst sitting on a grit bin on the side of the road. Turns out it was one of my favourite memories of the day as it gave us a chance to reflect on the day. And another cab company eventually got a cab to us after 45 mins as it was a Saturday night

Roxanne C, that is the sort of thing happens to me ... but it is so romantic and a story to tell the grandchildren!

Most car hire companies just take you to ceremony and from ceremony to reception. They leave after that. May be cheaper to.arrange a taxi .

We booked a coach and the whole wedding party was on the coach! Was a fun/drunken coach ride!

We couldn't afford a taxi so really Grateful to one of David's ushers driving us to the hotel .... & he also kindly came back lunchtime to collect us on the Sunday to drive us back to our car = we then drive ourselves to the New Forest to stay in a beautiful b&b who gave us a wedding present of a champagne bottle when we left !! Stars 🌟⭐️💫🌟⭐️💫

We are staying at the hotel next door to the venue, I'm planning on sashaying down the drive and into the hotel champagne bar in my wedding dress before collapsing into bed. I've bought a white satin cloak to wear over my wedding dress as it is at the end of March. Have fun :)
