I've just booked a date to give notice of marriage I'll be going on my own as my fiance lives in England and I live in Wales feeling a little bit nervous, silly I know just wondering what to expect when I get there.
Hi Catherine it is quick and painless :)
Nothing to worry about quick and easy!! Just confirming who you are
We live in Wales too and gave notice a couple of weeks ago. Took about 15 mins, just confirming who you and h2b are , ceremony date/time/ venue etc. Was really simple and nothing to be nervous about (although I also was nervous)
Thanks. I'm about to do the same but was unsure of what to expect.
I could be wrong, but I thought both of you had to give notice?
Is this only if you are not getting married in a church?
Thanks all you have put my mind at rest 😊
I think you both have to be there x
I gave notice with h2b in July. H2b went in 1st 30 minutes later. I had mine 10 minutes if that. The registrar was a Chelsea FC supporter as both I and h2b are . They were talking out football 😂
We have notice in September. Felt like an interigation.
We did it yesterday and the whole thing took less than 10minutes, just checking that you know each other and that you aren't being forced:)
I thought you just posted the paperwork to registrar office??
Its really easy. Its h2b age, job title /occupation, dob and full name including all names. The wedding details too. I was really nervous but completely easy xx
I thought you had to go together have you asked if you can go alone? x if I was you I would double check x
I believe that you both need to give notice in the district where you live - so for couples not yet living together I imagine that would mean going separately to different districts. Best to check with the register office to be on the safe side though!
