What is the best way to store my wedding dress before my wedding? I bought it off the peg and have a breathable dress bag but have been told not to store in the wardrobe or anywhere that gets quite cold/damp. Am i best getting a dress box? Anyone recommend anywhere? They seem pricey with what i've seen online recently.

My friend stored hers in the attic for almost a year and it was fine. I have mine in the top of the wardrobe.

Keep in in the bag, over the wardrobe door. Boxes are usually for preserving the dress after the wedding, it’ll put creases in it before.

I kept mine in a dress bag in my cupboard for a year and it was fine , had it steamed a few weeks before the wedding and then hung up at a friends house so it could air x

Duvet cover apparently works well. Poppers at the bottom of the dress and it a whole for the coat hanger at the other end. I took my dress (bought off the peg too) to a seamstress in Feb to get a quote for the work and they've stored it since then and will do so until I collect it in mid Dec for my wedding x

I stored mine in the dress bag the shop gave me. It was hanging on the side of a wardbrobe for 13 months before the wedding and it was absolutely fine.

I have a dress from my last attempt at a marriage 2009. In the bag from the shop and has been in the attic a year was in a family friends wardrobe before that. And its still immaculate as the day it came home from the shop x

In the bag will be fine as long as it's in a well ventilated room ie not a damp area (airing cupboard) or somewhere prone to big temperature fluctuatons - get it out of the bag every so often to "air" it.
IIt would only be in it's bag at the shop if it was kept there!!

Mine is with the seamstress until the wedding and she is fully insured too so that's a weight off my mind x

Mine is in the bag hung on the back of a wardrobe door at my mum's house. I would be far to tempted to wear it if it were at my house!

It will be perfectly fine in a breathable dress bag. That is how they are stored in bridal shops until you collect. As a seamstress my brides dresses are all on a rail hanging in their bags. I recommend a duvet cover once it's been steamed and collected just before your wedding, not as a long term solution. Hope this helps x

Mine was hung up in a spare room, out of direct sun light, inside a duvet case and was immaculate for 6 months we even put a hanger in the roof as it was a heavy dress to keep it stood up

It depends how long you need to store it for. A breathable dress bag is fine for 3 months is, but if like me, you need to store it for around two years, then there is the chance that moisture from the air can make it turn yellow.
