Has anyone made anything themselves for their wedding to cut back on costs? Im thinking of making favours and centerpieces myself but can't think of anything else. Any ideas?
Yes I made all my centre pieces, making all my own decorations too
I could look at making my own decorations yeah. Having a festival theme hopefully!
Hi My Mum is making our invitations and save the dates :)
We've decided to do our own centrepieces. Our venue is very vintage (it's a barn). So far we've just started saving all our food jars, different shapes and sizes and we will be putting little bits in each. Some will have candles, some will have small flower arrangements and others little fairy lights.
Sounds weird I know but it's difficult to describe 😂 X
I am making centerpieces. Stationery including invites and table plans. Own flowers including bouquets and button holes. You could always look at making your own cake if you can.
I've made the invitations. I will also be making our favours and our cake.
Invites, save the dates, your flowers if you’re that crafty?!
Yes I'm making my own favour's, coconut ice and peppermint creams, I've also made my centre piece's and we did all our own invites
I'm getting married in December and I'm in the same boat trying to cut bk on cost all I'm doing for favours is putting a few celebration sweets in little organza bags xx

I've made flower girl dresses, my bouquet and pinholes, cake stand, postbox, centre pieces, welcome sign, seating plan. I've made every thing apart from my dress and suits
I'm doing the same. We are also doing our own invitations. Bought some lovely cream scalloped edge paper and envelopes and are just finishing the design and text now. Posted out or hand delivered by the end of the week. We are not including rsvp cards as I have rarely received them and like buying my own to send back. Hope this helps. Enjoy.
I didn't do save the date just sent out invites a few months earlier. ..also I made my own wedding cake just ordinary sponge and I started baking a few weeks before an froze the layers..made it super easy.
I did all my flowers and button holes table decorations cake table decorations favours Thankyou presents and mirrored centre pieces
I'm making my dress, the bridesmaids dresses, the centrepieces and quite a few other bits. I'm a seamstress and the price of the dress I want made me fall over from laughing! I can make it for a quarter of what they were charging so that's exactly what I'm doing.
I'm thinking of making hangover kits as favours. Seen a list of things you can get then put together yourself etc. Was going to do my invites but I think I'm leaving it too late xx
Veil. Go onto Rock My Wedding. There is a tutorial blog on there. Very simple and straight forward. Tulle and combs off eBay and ivory thread. Saves a fortune xx
We did flowers. Centre pieces. Order of service. I did my own cake. Etc. X
I'm making my own cake also making my own favours with organza bags and homemade chocs and sweets
I think I'm going to ask mother in law to be to make our cake actually so that would save a few pennies. Has everyone who made the button holes and bouquet used real flowers?
I'm hoping to do the stationary, most of the decorations and maybe the flowers myself too x
We had a lord of the rings themed wedding and did everything ourselves!!

I'm making the centrepieces, the cake, the lanterns, a DIY photo booth, the invitations and order-of-service's, and I couldn't find shoes I wanted for a price I wanted so I bought some the style I wanted and have painted and will decorate them. Will also be doing my own make up (or at least my MOH will).
Courtney you going to help me?
I've made our invites, going to be doing favours, table numbers, place cards, seating plan etc oh and My mam bought a post box out of home bargains I think it was about £1.99 which I'll decorate to the theme xx
I decided on an origami theme and I’m making all the decorations (well most of them!), favours and centrepieces, as well and my bouquets and we have opted not to have a florist as I am making paper flowers. My plan is to bring in some games, and make a chill out corner as alternative entertainment! Also I designed my own invites and am printing them myself. Chose a really simple design that can be printed on A4 and folded. A friend is making our wedding cake (but we will pay for all the bits she needs)! I’m also doing my own make up. We spent a lot on food and the venue so wanted to make it up in other areas plus I love crafting and making things. If it all seems a bit much then play to your strengths and get friends to help!!
I’m making our invites and place settings, we also aren’t sending out separate save the dates xx

For my daughter’s wedding We’ve used a template that cost $7 to create the invitations and got them printed by an online printer and they cost £25 for 100 with the envelopes. Gorgeous. For favours we are buying lottery tickets to the local hospice lottery. Silk flowers are being arranged by a friend (they cost a fraction of fresh ones). Buying cake from M&S (who knew they did wedding cakes!) and putting ribbon round the bottom of each tier and adding silk flowers.
My sister is making the bouquets and invitations for me

A few pics of bits i made for my wedding x
We made our own seating plan. Was quoted over £200 , and even though there was money left in the budget, there was no way I was going to pay that. Got a frame from Dunelm and paint, and some crystals. Cost us around £50 to do it our selves. X
We made our bouquets and pocket squares and button holes ourselves. Saved roughly £100 x
Making my favours, invites, centre pieces, card box, wishing well, table scatter decorations such as paper flowers etc
Have a look on pintrest. Lots of amazing ideas of were to start. It's were I got my ideas from for my center pieces. I'd start with collecting jars, usually works for me. Pinch old Yankee candle jars off people, or coffee jars, doesn't matter if the yankee candles have wax in, pop them in the dish washer and then go get some wd40 or a cheap version and the glass cleans right up gets all the stick marks right off!
Buy some nice lace, arts and crafts shops. cheap fake flowers off eBay, nice cheap light up fairy lights I got mine from the pound d shop. Tada, center pieces!
I made all the bouquets and centre pieces
