It depends on your area. Some will only book 12 months in advance but I had no issues booking 18 month in advance. Give them a ring and ask x

I booked ours for our 2020 wedding last week. It's better to ask and secure the date you want x

It depends on your local ones. I can't do mine earlier than 2 years. I will be phoning them this Wednesday to book

I get married on the 4th july 2019 and have booked mine
They required a 50 pound deposit but you have to register with intent to marry between 10 months and 4 months maximumxxx

It depends, ours in Basingstoke allowed us to book 14 months before, but we could only give notice between 12 months and 3 months I believe. We gave notice as soon as we could to get it out of the way.

Our venue wouldn’t allow us to book unless we booked the registrar- thought this was a great idea. I am getting married May 2019

You should book the regristar at the same time.... my wedding is booked for the 1st Dec 2019 and had to book the reg first and confirm with the venue afterwards. We then have to give notice a year before the wedding x

Our venue would only let us book the venue once we had confirmed the registra. Getting married march 19. Booked in July this year x

You can book your registrar anytime you want, this is what we were told. You need to book your registrar to find out what time they are available to marry you and check they are available on the date you want. You just can't give notice (where they ask you and your other half questions about each other to check it's not a sham marriage basically ) until one year before but you must give notice at the latest 28 days before then your banns will go up x

Depends where you are, we were able to book 2 years in advance so I filled out the form online where you can choose 3 preferred times.
They called me the next day (just a few days before 2 years to go) and we got our first choice of time. I've known people to wait until a year before and been left with the choice of only either 11am or 3:30pm so definitely sort sooner rather than later

You need to book your registrar before you book your venue to check they're available. the one year thing is giving notice, you can book them for a ceremony at any time and must or you may not be getting married on the same day you booked your venue for...

Depends on where you live - but most registrars open up bookings a year in advance

UKbride Member 24 Oct 2017

It depends where you live as I think everywhere has different rules, I live in Birmingham and my venue wouldn’t let me book until I had booked the registrar, we rang the registry office and they said we could book up to 2 years before the date, we had to pay a hold the date fee of £75 and a further £75 deposit which will come off the balance to be paid before the wedding. Then you also have to give notice anytime from 1 year before but no later than a month before your wedding.

I’ve booked mine already and I’m getting married 27/07/2019. You just can’t give notice until a year to go. X
