Our deadline to write our invites is next week and we are really struggling to who we should invite to the night do none of us have any close friends and I have just started a new job and not really keeping in touch with people from my old one.

You shouldn't just invite people to make up numbers. Think about who you really want there. If you have just started a new job you could consider asking a few of them if you think they might turn into friends. X
I'm going by my rule of: if I haven't seen them for a year then they're not invited, if the have not made an effort to see my H2B then they're also not invited. Like Laura says don't just invite people to make the numbers up, especially as the less people you invite the cheaper it becomes lol 😊 X
Invite those special to you. Don't feel like you have to make up the numbers. Deep down you'll know the attendees you really want c
I wouldn't invite people for the sake of it. Only invite those who are special to you both.
