Brides with glasses, what are you doing on the wedding day? I need to wear my glasses all the time and contacts do not agree with me. What sort of make up would you do?

Hi I will be wearing my glasses hare having non glare glass in them. I think I will be exaggerating my eyes . :)

I used to need glasses all the time and think Lucy is correct about having non glare glass. I don't think it is a good idea to have what used to be called photochromic (goes dark in the sun) or, depending upon the weather, you might look like you are wearing sun glasses which would spoil the photographs. Might be worth discussing it with a MUA.

Personally I would still go if it's what you wanted to do. It's about you and your special time no one else's. Get it booked!!

I need my glasses to read everything as they are vari-focals but if I don't need to read anything, I won't be wearing them.

Wear them they are part of you and who you are. Lots of brides do. Maybe treat yourself to a new pair . Speak to make up person. They.will advise you

I wore my contact lenses but if I was going to wear my glasses I was going to buy a new pair so they felt more special and went with my dress etc. Definitely recommend anti glare coating on them as you don't want lights etc reflected on them in your photos. X

Wearing glasses is fine! I will be wearing mine I don't bother with contacts etc. Also I don't wear makeup so I won't be wearing any on the day

I had to wear my glasses on my wedding day too so decided to buy pretty silver frames so that they didn't stand out too much. My make up was natural anyway but my makeup artist just enhanced they tones because of the the glasses.
Good luck and hope this helps x

I have to wear my glasses all the time too. I dread wearing them as they make my face look really round but why not. Could always edit the roundness off my face lol

I'm probably going to get new glasses for the wedding as mine are dark and I dont think they'll compliment my dress. I wouldn't dream of going without them and I didn't get on with contacts either.

I bought glasses that would go with my dress and then was trying out contacts for the honeymoon as we were going to Florida. I decided to put the contacts in while getting my make up done and decide in the 10 minutes before leaving the room if I was wearing them or my glasses as they sometimes hurt my eyes but ended up keeping them in until almost 9pm xx

I recently got contacts, I've only been wearing glasses for about 18 months so still feel more me without them in but I need them all the time. I wear glasses now in the house etc but if I go out I wear my contacts, they don't always feel great but I think that's because I don't wear them often enough to get fully used to them.

Both me and my FH wear glasses. We both need them to see and neither of us are into contacts. We both regard our glasses as part of our personalities and both agree we look odd without them on, id rather see my future husband and guests enjoyment of the day and wear glasses (like normal) than be squinting all day - I can't imagine the photos would look great with us both squinting at each other lol!

I will be accentuating my lips as they are one of my best features, if you think your eyes are yours ask a makeup artist to accentuate yours or play around with your normal makeup and glasses to see what looks good.
You could even (if budget allows) go and pick some glasses that are in keeping with your theme or colour scheme

I love this question ... because I myself am in a dilemma, I can't see anything other than deep blurry of colour without my glasses. Despite always loving my glasses and thinking of them as an accessory I've started to despise them and always having to wipe them clean denfog them, dry them when it rains etc. I used to wear contacts but I couldn't keep up with the costs .. I'm either getting laser eye surgery or I'm going with contacts for the day (despite not having worn them in ages and needing to pay for new tests, lenses and breaking them in etc) ... I sometimes think I look strange without them but what I wouldn't give to be able to wake up open my eyes and see the world around me .. so yes laser eye or contacts.. will be watching this thread to see others opinions on a dilemma I thought I was the only bride currently battling with.

Have a bridesmaid on standby to hold you glasses for photos etc if you don’t want to wear them xxx

I wouldn't be me without my glasses so they'll be on all day! I'm going to really have to find a pair I love when I'm due new ones as they'll be the ones I'm wearing on the day! As for make up, if your having a make up artist do it, ask for a trial and they should be able to accommodate.
