Me and my partner are hoping on getting married next year 2018 around August-October problem is he is in the military and works away so we haven’t had time to start anything really. Is this not enough time to plan a wedding?

Of course it is time. My H2B proposed out of the blue in July. Most of our preparations are done, other than finalising the flowers and menswear.

It is enough time but you might find a lot of places are booked depending on what you actually want.

I got engaged recently, and mine is all planned for next August.
Like people have said there may be the odd thing that is booked, but nothing should stop you ☺️

It can definitely be done, we started planning Nov/Dec last year and got married at the start of September just gone! All depends on what sort of things you want but is certainly achievable on your timescale. Happy planning!x

We decided end of July to get married in the April, giving us around 9 months, it's been around 3 months and I think I've booked and sorted almost everything now, now just got to wait! You'll do it! Good luck xx

My friends organised their wedding within 12 weeks. One of them was in the military too. So anything is possible. Some places might be booked up. So I think you need to keep your options and expectations open to compromise. Some places have amazing last minute cancellations too!

My husband and I booked and planned our xmas eve wedding in 32 days last year. My only advice would be to be prepared to compromise on certain aspects, and keep it simple. :) xx

It's plenty of time. I'm not getting married till 2019 due to the cost. But if we had the money I could be married in the next 6 months easily xx

It's definitely possible, just be mindful that places may be booked up already. So try not to be too picky with the dates.. also shop around for things like photographers. You will be able to do it no problem. Good luck . Xxx

Absolutely doable the only issue will be available. My venue is booked up next year and the lady I'm getting the cake from just announced she had no availability left next year so you will really have to get going on preparations

It's plenty of time for planning, it's just that a lot of venues/registrars and photographers/entertainment ect can be booked up over a year in advance so you may struggle to get the exact date and things that you want x

We planned ours in 3 months x

The main thing to consider is registering for the marriage at your local registry office as both of you need to be there. It may be worth seeing when your h2b is available to do this as it has to be done in advance of the wedding, but within 1 year. Good luck!

It can be done, just decide what you want and find what works for you and your schedule. Good Luck and enjoy.

It is plenty of time just be prepared for you to plan a lot of it and him to not really get a chance my partner is in the army and he’s based away from home so is hardly ever here for us to plan together we discuss ideas on the phone or over text we have a Pinterest board too that we can both add to so that helps share or ideas with one another good luck

It’s masses of time , I presume he has put his leave request in already ... once you have that granted you can fly.
I organised my wedding while my husband was working in Sudan !!!

My fiance and I got engaged on July 27th 2017, and we are getting married on 28th July 2018. He is in the Army and is being sent on his first Tour in November, not getting home until the end of May 2018, and I have just moved to New Zealand for 6 months. We started planning the wedding in mid-September, and as of this week we have got everything planned (I even have my dress!). So yes, it's very, very doable. We literally planned the entire event in less than 6 weeks, all we need to do now is decorate the venue! Good luck xx
