Does anyone have any experience with dressmakers? I have found a dress pattern and fabric I have fallen in love with. I knew from day one the style of dress I wanted and I know dress shops wont sell it so I thought doing it this way would be better x
Hi I am thinking of doing the same thing :)
Make sure you get recommendations and see pictures of what they have done. I am not a seamstress (although capable of sewing suits and cutting without a pattern) but make the suggestion because I have had to bale out someone who said she was and had taken on making a gown for someone and got in way above her depth.
I had a dressmaker make my bridesmaid dresses. They were great xx
Just be careful my dressmaker was completely useless
Totally agree with poster above. Ask to see their previous work. I've not gone down this route but I've heard a few horror stories of girls being disappointed with end product.
