I got mine from Wed2B and spent £750 on the most expensive dress in the shop, a matching belt, veil and princess petticoat. They are very reasonable and have hundreds of dresses in every shop. You also don't need an appointment, which is good.

A bit of advice I would give to you is.... make sure the shop sticks to your budget! Some shops will find you dresses way over your budget in the hope you will try it on and love it, and spend lots more money. You will fine a dress for your budget my dress was under your budget. You just got to be s but firm with the shops. Xx

I WIN! £50 from Lindy Bop! I'm adding a pale blue petticoat and a peach satin sash, covered with pale blue lace, to make it my own unique style and a total one off, that no other bride will have. Also, I can wear it again for parties.

Lisa Davey

£152 from jjshouse.co.uk why spend an extortionate amount of money for 1 dress that you're going to wear once? Jjs house do make some stunning dresses. Mine isnt actually under the wedding dress section but I fell for it as soon as I saw it

I'm ordering a black and gold gown from amazon for £79 🙂 I'm not a "dressy" person and I refuse to spend an extortionate amount on an item I will only wear once, plus ours is masquerade theme in black gold and silver so it works!! Xx

Sammi Louise
Sammi Louise 15 Oct 2017

I spent £600...was way more than what I wanted to spend but it's perfect. Having ordered a couple online for them to turn up and not fit properly and not been the quality I was after I decided to spend a bit more on a dress I knew would suit me. Sometimes it pays to spend more to get what you want.

UKbride Administrator
UKbride Administrator 15 Oct 2017

I didn't set myself a budget as knew I would only pick a dress I loved for the right reasons at the end of the day but I did tell all shops I wasn't looking to spend unnecessary amounts of money to avoid them just showing me silly expensive dresses and they all stayed realistic. But I was prepared to pay almost any amount out of my own savings for my dress as it's always been important to me. What I didn't consider into the price that I wish I had was the alterations. Ask the dress shop what their seamstress charges before you try dresses on as that can massively hike up the prices. I'm paying best part of £250 for my alterations which I wish I knew before hand as it turned an expensive dress into a really expensive dress x

I spent £779 on mine (with a petticoat) from wed2be and it is amazing. Just as good as any dress that costs £1000s

UKbride Administrator
UKbride Administrator 15 Oct 2017

I bartered with my dress shop and got it for £600 it was meant to be £750 so I spent the £150 on shoes (again bartered as were last pair on the shelf) they were meant to be £70 and I got them for £40 and veil I got in sale was £80 and got it down to £20 I then used the rest for alterations I think I had to only add another £50 all in all just under £800 for everything oh that also included 2 bridesmaid dresses and alterations to them also. Don't be afraid to barter if you are willing to pay cash they will happily do what ever to have that money x

Dress £1000 (ordered at wedding fair so saved £400). Alterations 150. I thought the veil was really expensive at 200 as there was nothing too it but I did love it. In hindsight I should have bought veil elsewhere instead of the dress shop x
