If you are designing from scratch why not check out some websites and check wordings and styles?

If you goggle it there are loads of options but you basically need to say that you are inviting the person and how many guests to your wedding/evening do. What date it is on, the time and where it is. x

As both our parents were contributing it didnt seem right to only have my parents "invite" people as is traditional, also as we wanted to include our daughter we had "(daughters full name) requests the pleasure of your company at the wedding of her parents (my full name) and (husbands full name) then underneath at time, venue with address and postcode then "reception to follow". Included an rsvp (already named... people forget to put names on them and helps stop unwanted guests! And an rsvp date with self addressed envelopes... seems silly but helped get them all back!) With dietry requirements. Wedding guest list was word of mouth for those who wanted to know... hope this helps x
