Hi can someone explain how insurance works please Also do you have to insure the amount your wedding going to cost t.i.a
I would ensure the amount you plan to spend. If something was to go wrong for example the venue goes into liquidation your insurance should cover the cost of this.
Hi I agree with the above answer :)
Hi, Insure for how much you would lose if you had to a) reschedule and b) if you had to cancel. So for example if you had to reschedule you can reuse dresses etc and rings (unless you had the dates engraved) but if you had to cancel you would lose everything you had spent. Don't forget to ensure that your insurance will include deposits already paid, and travel and accommodation for those people you are paying for. Note that most insurance does not cover the cost of flights (we are bringing family in and their flights are not covered).
When should you get insurance please xx
Most allow for 2 years in advance. I have yet found one over 2 years so I'm waiting to get mine sorted.
My insurance came with my bank account (cool perk) it covered things going wrong and thank God wasn't needed
Does anyone know if you can take out insurance if you have already booked
We went for a bit more than we planned to spend - reason being that if something like the photographer or venue cancelled there was a risk that the only replacement you could get at short notice would be more expensive.
I work in the insurance industry (not for weddings though), I got mine from voyage as happy with the cover for the wedding and limits of gifts we may get, I purchased separate travel insurance for the honeymoon though as the wedding insurance did not offer enough cover for flights and hotel, there should always be a summary you can read to check what cover you are getting so make sure you read it to make sure you get the right cover you need for your wedding
