Start by working out you 'must have' guest list so you know the minimum numbers (remember to include you and your partner!). Once you know that figure you can start looking at venues that accommodate. Also, start working out how much you can afford to save each month, and when you want the wedding to be so you can work out what your budget it. Good luck!

Figure out your budget, start a rough list of guests so the venue has a rough idea how to quote then look at venues and book your registrar

Start with deciding the venue and finding out if it's liscenced or if you need to marry at registry, then sort a registrar or book the registry. Once you know the venue you'll know how many guests can come and can draw up a guest list, once you know the venue you can find out nos of table and how many can sit on each, find out if they decorate it or if you have to and start planning that as you'll be able to decide what suits the room, find out if they provide food or if you have to and if they do what they can provide for you so you can sort a menu, if they don't you can then decide if the venue suits more of a sit down meal or a buffet, fund out if they'll provide the toast alcohol or if you have to, if they do how much per bottle, if you do do they charge cor corkage, do they provide a cake stand and knife or do you have to, where can you have photos taken, do they provide a DJ or do you have to source your own entertainment. Once you've sorted all that and found out how much it all is you'll then know how much of your budget is left for things non venue related

Firstly, congratulations. Secondly, deep breath. Before you go and look at venues you'll need an idea of a date, approximate number of guests and estimated budget. It will be fine. You've got this. Good luck xx

Take a deep breath and don't panic! There are plenty of resources and checklists online, including on UK Bride, which will give you timescales to work to and often include things you would never have thought of! Get a file together with important information like venue, caterer, bridal boutiques, decorations etc. and start scrapbooking or Pintrest-ing with styles and designs that you like. Get your partner involved too as it's good to have more than one opinion (but not too many!) and the day should represent you both. It will all come together so try not to stress and enjoy planning one of the most important days of your life! :-)

Guest list is the best place to start. Once you know how many people will be invited you can work on venue, catering etc xxx

Venue always has to be first as any suppliers you speak to will ask when and where, get an idea of how many guests you would like to invite so you know how bigger a space you need, a lot of places have a minimum amount of guests
