My fiancé and are I really struggling with ideas for a theme. We are getting married in a castle so the inside of the building in areas is very historic and so of course as much as we love this, we don't want this as a theme for tables etc! Please help with ideas of how we can make the venue even more beautiful. We are quite an adventurous couple so anything is possible!

What time of year is it. Seasons can help with colour ideas.

When you say theme, do you mean style/colours rather than Disney/Harry Potter etc? I'm assuming you mean the first, maybe pick out a colour at the castle and use that as a base?

Do you have any colours in mind? If you're not sure on a theme I would initially look at colour schemes on pinterest and see what you like/dislike. Is there anything that you are both interested in?

Does it really need any extra? I would just let the room speak for it self... If its beautiful already. Which i am sure it is or you wouldnt of picked there to be married... Wish we were getting married in a castle, always dreamt of it as a kid, real medieval castle knights jousting etc.. But way out of our budget. So having registry office again.. 😊good luck with your big day.

We got married in Hedingham Castle and just picked a colour theme as the interior was beautiful already. I did make scrolls with a wax seal for the order of service. And made chocolate 'Key to the Castle' favours. Xxx

You can do anything, doesn't have to fit the venue per say! Something seasonal? Different locations or hobbies? Just a colour scheme rather than a theme? Just something beautiful and perhaps rustic?

I'd go with candles and fairy lights.. keep it simple and the castle will set the mood it self

Not being funny but why do weddings need a theme these days.

We struggled for a long time with this and finally decided on Game of Thrones. We named the tables after the houses, got Game of Thrones chocolates for favours on Ebay and the groomsmen had badges with the house logos on them :-) xxx
