I don't think the 'style' as such is a yearly thing, you will get a feel for whatever style suits your body and your taste, there's so many styles out there , go have a feel for it x

So thankful for this post, was wondering the same thing myself, sept 2019 and I want to look now, too excited not to 😁 I guess when you find the right dress it doesn't matter how long until the wedding

My wedding is June next year and I only went dress shopping this week!! I did leave it a little too late as if dresses need ordering it can take 5 months but I got mine off the rack anyway so glad I waited. I'm normally known to change my mind so the longer I left it the better xx

I got mine 2 months ago and had planned to get married in 2020. Have a look around and see whats about, if you see something that you have to try on go for it. I had chosen one before i found my dress and she wrote all the details down for me. Good luck xx

I picked mine 2yrs before my wedding as I just knew it was "the one" Really glad I did as it was discontinued in March of this year so I had to have it made earlier than anticipated so as to still have it. I don't get married until July'18

I'm planning for a 2020 wedding but I'm waiting to look for a dress because I'm currently losing weight. I really want to start looking but I know I will probably change my mind when it gets closer to the time.

I'm getting married Feb 2019 and I've already chosen mine, it was a little early in my mind but I got over excited 😊 also it needs a tonne of adjustments and can take up to 5 months to deliver so by the time I get it, it will be very close to the wedding 👰🏼

Styles change every year but I got mine 1.5 years before our wedding but when the day came round it was still in fashion and on trend. Depends what dress you go for x

I think that you know when a dress is right for you, if you’re an indecisive person, don’t look too soon, but if you know that you won’t change your mind once you find one you love then I say go for it 😊 I bought mine this week and don’t get married until August 2019 but I know that once my mind is made up I won’t consider anything else x

Our wedding is October 26th 2018 and my dress is already being stored at my aunt's house. I was looking around online to get a feel for styles I wanted to go try on and stumbled across it and totally fell in love. It was a super bargain buy but coming from ebay I wanted plenty of time to find something else if it wasn't how I envisioned it ... It is perfect and it now seems so long until I get to wear it lol xx

A year..

UKbride Administrator
UKbride Administrator 30 Sep 2017

I started looking with two years notice and took a year to choose! I'd start looking sooner rather than later, but if you find something you love then don't look any more because there is just too much choice!

I got mine in August, 12 months before our wedding date. It is due in to the boutique in May with plenty of time for any alterations.

It depends on if you want a bespoke dress or off the rack, either way allow about 4-5 months for adjustments. As many brides to be have said if you know what style/type you want, when you find the one, you really do find the one!

I'm getting married in just under 6 months and i still haven't even stepped foot in a bridal shop 🙈 planning on getting my dress in wed2b. Just go when you feel the time is right 😊

I got engaged last Aug and found my dress in the October... I also worried it was too early, but it gives me longer to pay it off, and tbh imo I've not seen anything that comes close to it. It's by dream dress xx

I wasn’t going to look for mine till next year getting married 2019 but see something I liked that popped up on my news feed so went and looked and brought it that was about 4 months ago if there’s something you really love don’t let it go you may regret it 🙂 xx

I found my wedding dress a long time before our wedding and still loved it just as much if not more by the time our wedding day came. It shouldn't be about styles changing it should be about what you love xx

UKbride Administrator
UKbride Administrator 1 Oct 2017

Give 6 months for it to come. Lots of companies discontinue dresses so if you start now and find one you love you would have to order it. Depends whether you are planning on loosing weight or not.

I am 10 months away and still not looked, I've researched but trying to lose weight first.
