We're aiming for our wedding to be in April 2019, we've both agreed on Saturday 20th and are getting ready to book our venues but then realised it's right in the middle of Easter weekend! What's everyone's thoughts on getting married on easter weekend?
If your guests know in plenty of time then it shouldn't be a problem. But I do know a lot of families go away for easter :)
My brother got married on an Easter weekend. The Friday was great for travelling as it was a Bank Holiday - no trucks and hardly any buses on the motorways. People knew in plenty of time to book accommodation and only 1 or 2 didn't make it as they had other commitments.
I think it is a great idea because of the bank holidays. You colour even have an Easter egg hunt if you are inviting kids. Though adults like Easter eggs hunts as well
Hi if you are getting married in Church it would save you money on flowers as there are lots in a church over the Easter holiday good luck :)
Ahh thank you all :) Think we're going to go for the Easter weekend! Plus it gives people two days to recover afterwards! haha. We're going to send out save the dates around February next year too so everyone will have plenty of notice :) I love the idea of the Easter egg hunt!!
If you are having a church ceremony you better ask if they will do that - I think some churches don't allow for weddings over the easter weekend. Other from that I am sure it would be lovely :)
