Help, not a clue! What is a reasonable price for wedding cakes and for...

Best thing to do is contact various different suppliers for quotes. Most, if not all, will give you free quote.
You can buy wedding cakes from places like M&S too so maybe look on their for ideas of prices. But remember with cakes, it's the hours someone puts in to make them. Not just the ingredient.
I'm paying just under £1000 for my photographer. Which is pictures from me and my party getting ready, to church, to wedding reception up to first dance. But I contact about 6 different photographer, compared packages and picked one that suited me. And he's perfect for us.

I am paying about 300 for my cake and 350 for my photographer.
Best thing to do is find good recommendations online for a cake, ask to around on Facebook as bakerys will charge through the roof compared to a small business.
When it comes to photography do what I am doing, an all day package that gives me all the photos on a disc and the copyright to them. Then print them yourselves. If you get a package with prints thats when the prices sky rocket :-)
Also if you are yorkshire local I can recommend suppliers xxx

Photographers are about £900 depending on full/half day and if you have album etc

I'm paying almost £1000 for my photographer. He photographed my friends wedding and he is fantastic. It's definitely worth seeing their work. Cakes from M&S are around the £150 to £350 Mark depending on what you want. They cost more from a baker. X

Cake for 200 people, 4 tiers with a lot of decoration is coming in between £350 and £700. Can't quote on photographer as he is doing 4 photoshoots for us.Best thing I would recommend is go to a wedding fair and see who is there & ask for quotes. Or use our photographer Dan Waters Creative Photography and you'll be happy with price, photos & service :)

My basic price for a full day of photography is £450, don't be put off by the "cheaper" priced, doesn't mean they aren't good!

I got my wedding cake and cupcakes from supermarket wedding dept. photographer was on offer at £525 but can go well into the thousands. Are wedding pics are amazing though

As a few have said, wedding fairs and shopping around are your best bet, we are slowly collecting quotes from photographers and going through their online portfolios to find the right one (or team) for us! X

I'm paying 750 for a photographer and photobooth.

Our photos is £899 an that's for 2 photographers from preparations to 1st dance...im a cake maker so will be doing my own cake. But like someone said above a cake price isn't just ingredients...a cake is a Labour of love and a good 2-3 days work xx

M and S make some gorgeous simple cakes that you can add fresh flowers or your own custom made toppers!

It depends where you are. London and South East are generally really expensive. I paid £1200 for my photographer but got quoted more by many others. Cake I was quoted £450 but my MIL sorted it out in the end

We are using this lady for 299

I paid £500 for my photographer and i get over 500 photos on a usb stick and a album but he didn't cover the 1st dance as that would be extra but I had plenty of people covering that. My cake was from M&S and it was delicious it cost me £60 for 3 tiers all different flavours.

We paid £500 for two photographers from 7am till 11pm they were amazing they used a drone for group shots too which was cool there are definitely deals to be had make sure you get the copyright so you can print pictures wherever you want. Cake I paid £245 but we had a naked cake four tiers all different flavours for each cake this was to feed 250 guests. Your not being tight called savy we spoke to one photographer who I don't doubt wasn't brilliant but he wanted £2000 for the same amount of time as we got

Photographer we paid £600 and she was brilliant. In regards to a Cake I'm a Cake maker so made my own but from a bakers perspective. Price usually depends on how many you want to feed and Also what sort of design your looking at. The simpler the design the cheaper the cake would be. If you want sugar flowers that's where you could be looking at a bigger price on the cake. Remember just because you have 200 guests at your wedding doesn't mean 200 guests will eat cake so don't feel you have to get a huge cake to feed everyone as Iv had many brides tell me tiers were left over etc. Xx

Im in Scotland, but We paid £300 for photography, from preparation to just after the 1st dance. And £90 for the cake, 3 teir for 100 people.
I had been given quotes for between £250 & £450 for the exact same cake. Definitely worth shopping around.
We always use the same photographer & the lady that done the cake for wee ones birthday etc, but this is their prices anyway. Xx

We're going to have an 'alternative' cake .... a wheel of cheese, a giant pork pie, a cheesecake, a chox fudge cake, and a little rainbow cake, on one ofnthose split tier stands, all tarted up (by myself) to look weddingy :-) affordable and people will actually eat it xx

Hi. I got quoted last week for a wedding in 2018, £700 pounds for 4 tier 5,7,9,11 inches round feeding 100-110 people. As for a photographer they are all very expensive when you think of the actual hourly rate and that you will look at the photos and think how lovely, put them away and may be only look at them again every anniversary. I wouldn't pay more than £900 tops.

I'm in south Yorkshire and we paid £300 for our 3 tier wedding cake and £300 for the photographer she was amazing and the £80 for the album and £10 for all photos on disk good luck

Need to see what the photographers prices include. I know a few people who went for a cheaper price but then realised it didn't include an album which was several hundred ponds extra.
Cake wise look at M&S wedding cakes. Can order the tiers in different sizes and flavours.

Depends on what you're looking for. I'm keeping everything cheap and cheerful. I'm quite lucky as one of my friends has just finished a photography degree so she's doing the photos at a really good price. I live in Barnsley south Yorkshire so the cake hasn't cost much either (£90!)

Prices can different from one supplier to the next. If it helps, my ceremony only packages start at £350, all day starts at £550 and goes up to £1500 depending on what's included, how many hours are covered, etc.

I payed £300 for my cake which had 3 tiers personally I think 2 tiers is enough It Fed 90 guests with one tier left over and most of tht that went in the bin.
my photographer started at £400 and went to £1200
I payed £795 which included a story book album and a framed print . if I did it over I wouldn't pay for an album mine has only been looked at a handful of times. I wish I just had the disks and printed my own would of been a lot cheaper. at the time wen your planning you think things like tht that are important and they are but you dont need to break the bank for them.
my friend got married had her 3 tiers from M&S and added a topper and it was super xx

Our wedding cake cost £100 all together. we had our topper specially made a bit of ribbon to put round it. 3 tiers brought from M&S. middle layer was chocolate. home assembled with some dowels. It was delicious and beautiful
