When you give notice at your local registry office. They'll give you a booklet of readings you can have

Yes, ours is registry office and we were asked, we aren't but all she said was to leave any in a few weeks before so they can be checked as nothing religious is allowed x

We're getting married in a hotel and the registrar will leave and my brother will give us a blessing. Anything religious u have to wait for registrar to leave. He also said he's says a prayer after ceremonies in registry office but the registrar leaves atthe end hes allowed to do it quickly then. Best to ask first so they know

It depends on your registrar. We've been told I can't walk the aisle to Mendelssohn or religious music but we can have a bible reading which doesn't fuss us as we aren't religious x

Nothing religious allowed at all. They even check all the songs/music for religious lyrics and references.

The registrar sends you a book with different readings that have been approved to read in a non religious ceremony to choose from.

We were allowed readings at our registry office wedding *but* nothing with any religious reference. We had an excerpt from Neil Gaiman's Stardust at ours.

We are having 3 readings. The registrar said they are fine as long as they are non religious... you get a booklet when giving notice that says what's ok and what's not. If you're having a reading that they don't suggest in the booklet you will have to give a copy of it to the registrar *I think* 10 weeks before so that they can make sure it suitable. X

We got married in a hotel and were allowed two readings but they couldn't be religious. We chose two poems. One was called On Your Wedding Day and we read the other one called I'll Still Be Loving You. X

My first wedding Our registrar left the room halfway through and we had a blessing then he rejoined us and finished the ceremony. Some may not allow it at all so may be better doing it at the end when they leave.
