What was people's budgets for their wedding dress? And did you go over or surprise yourself and stay under budget. My budget was around £1000 but promised myself never to look at price before trying on.. tried on about 14 dresses in total and found the one then couldn't take it off. I had to have it regardless of price. It was £1200
I'm hoping to find my dress at wed2b as no dresses there cost over £600 (apart from the premium ones) x
My fiancè said I could have what I wanted ... I had a budget in my head of 2k but really didn't want to go about 1.5k ... I tried on dresses without knowing the price and it ended up being 1495 .... lol x
my mum offered me £2500 towards a dress & whatever was left was towards the wedding.. i got mine from ebay for £400 :) i knew the style & designer i wanted & got the perfect dress :) x
I was determined not to go over £100, even seen one on Amazon for £60 that I was going to get but I decided that after having baby no3 in February this year that I should go into a proper dress shop and see what fits my new body shape. I fell in love with a dress from Berketex Bride... £699 and then £200 for alterations I just HAD to get it, I was an emotional wreck trying it on and couldn't see myself wearing anything else, spoke to my OH as I felt bad spending so much money on myself and he told me to get it as I never spend that much on myself.
Mine was £1000 but ended up spending £1500. I also need to add alterations on this
I didn't have a budget for the dress tried on 1800 pound dresses fell in love with one that was 500 left it over weekend tried on more dresses and came back to the same one
Didnt budget for my dress as i wanted it to be the perfect one and not settle for something else and be dissappointed. Mine cost £1695 but it is amazing x
My budget was £600 found my dream one at £499 so under budget
Didn't want to go above £800 ended up costing £1200 without alterations but it was the only dress I tried on I just didn't want to take off. When it's the one sometimes you can cut costs elsewhere.
500 and I got mine thought wed2b. Was just brilliant and exactly what I wanted.
£3,500 was the budget for my dress. I get married a week today and I'm under budget... just
Buy it. If you don't you will just regret it, I set a budget of £1500 for dress, I was very very lucky and found 'the one' and managed to purchase my veil also & got both for £1200. I was shocked I managed it ????
I always panic about money but my husband said get the one your happy with don't look at price tag. The one I fell in love with was £1250 been married 5 years now and still love it xx
Hi I am hoping to have mine from Wed2b they have dresses from £99-£899 they have some really beautiful gowns :)
I found mine on eBay a sample that needed to be hemmed on the underskirt and a good dry clean but it's come up perfect. Both me and my mum cried when I put it on! And best part was it was £80...
My budget was £500, got my dress from wed2b for about £425
£600 or under. Got it under as want to wed2b. Got a stunning dress but it did cost an additional £350 for alterations!
So don't forget that alterations can cost you a fair bit!!
I've just picked mine today at a local dress shop for £325 happy bride to be
Fell in love with my dress when I tried it on, though I'm not an all frills kinda girl it was perfect and at just shy of £2000 with my straps added I have to fight not to put it on every time I'm in the house on my own. Been married 3 months ?
I had set a budget of £1000 but got really lucky. I tried on a few dresses going through what i did and didnt like. Didnt find one so got dressed. As we were about to leave the shop assistant said for me to wait az she was going to check and see if they still had a certain dress. She found it and put it in the changing room next door. She wouldnt let me see the dress and asked me to keeo my eyes closed when getting into it. She guided me out to the mirror and i just knew the minute I saw it on. I loved it. Its not to everyones taste but It was the one for me....and a bargain at £350. I was never going to over spend as its one day and im donating it when i am done. Soend what you want its your dress :-)x
Got mine in black Friday so got 15 percent off...dress fitting Sunday. Have no idea what they are going to charge for alterations.dress cost £900
I didn't want to spend more than £1000 but spent £1500 in the end!
My budget was £1000, but found my dress for £450 at wed2b. I then found out I was pregnant and would be 7.5 months at the wedding! So had to buy a new dress, £479 also from wed2b. But then managed to sell my first dress on eBay. So I still stuck to my original budget
I went over budget. Well my mum did! I always swore I wouldn't spend a lot but when we both cried after I tried it on, was only dress number 3, my mum said she would buy it regardless of price xx
My budget was £1-£2k and it ended up being in the sale from £1500 to £1000 xx
Never asked, didn't have a budget. Just knew it was the one when I put it on! It was £1300. My mum paid the deposit there & then which was half x
I was over also bye few hundred my tip was found the dress in another shop exactly same 250 cheaper
I didn't have a budget in mind didn't look at price tags. The one I wanted came to £950 which was very surprising.
My first wedding dress was £75 the 2nd £60 love them both. First was in sale and 2nd off Internet never worn
My budget was £500
I have paid deposit for my dress which cost £1600
My mum said between £500-£1000 I got my dress for £600 so stayed relatively under budget
my dad always said he would buy my wedding dress so when i went shopping i asked him he said budget was £1000 but if the one was over he wouldnt mind. Luckly the one was only £999.99 lol but with alterations went just over as they were £150 my dad wasnt bothered and didnt even want to see the dress till the day good job as i made him cry x
My budget was £1000, found my dream dress and it was exactly on budget and then the sales women said "oops this one should be in the sale!" So I got it for £395!!!
Got mine from wed2be so was about £600 but that was the budget my mum gave me xxx
My budget was £1000... Ended up with a dress for £1500 plus a cape for £450 and alterations were £550 (which I didn't anticipate!).
I never understand why women set a budget but then don't look at the price tags. Surely you set a budget for a reason so why try on something way above that budget and then feel bad when you spend more?! I set a budget and didn't even look at anything over that and found my dream dress £200 below my top budget.
I had a budget of £1000 and found the dress I love on the shops website, went in to try it On not knowing the price and found out it was £775 so was very happy
Mine 40pounds
My dress is £1600 my beautiful grandma has paid for it for me as well as the veil etc ... I've been blessed and feel very lucky and grateful that my parents are paying for the wedding...
I budgeted £1500-£1800 (I know that's a lot of money but I don't care, I didn't want to have any regrets and wanted to be able to get what I wanted) but I ended up spending £600 in Wed2be (obviously without alterations, underskirt, accessories etc.)
My dress was very under budget at under £200.
Found my perfect dress on-line at Debenhams for £300 (after I had found a discount voucher)
£135 including postage x
My dress is the one thing I didn't want to cut-corners on and was expecting to pay around £1200 alterations if needed. However I totally fell in love with the first dress I tried on and even after trying on about 15 after, I went back to my first! The price will total close to £3000 once alterations, under hoop, veil been factored in my only saving grace is that I'm having 2 wedding receptions (as I get married away from home) so at least get to wear it twice! X
I had a budget of about £1000 but my dress came in at £695. Didn't even like the dress on the hanger only tried it on because I liked the colour...turned out it was the right dress for me xx
Mine was £1199 - had a ball park figure of around 800 in my head but it was the only one I didn't want to take off.
It came with my veil and my hoop cost 16.99 on amazon!
I didn't need any alterations done - but having worked in bridal wear I would ask about alteration costs when first buying as they can be pricey - if the shops alteration prices are too much then you have time to either budget it in or source an external seamstress to do the work you need x
I didn't set a budget..i tryed a few dresses on to see what style I liked the best and fell in love with a dress that was £1300..I had a look online and found a dress almost identical (which is now my wedding dress) I payed £150 for it. I bought from jjshouse.co.uk ive also got my4brides maids and my maid of honour on budget as well paying £80 for all of them!!
£30 x
Ive found mine on simply be for less than £100
My budget is £500, I've seen some lovely ones from monsoon and wed to be x
My budget was 2000 but found the perfect one for 1200 but after paying for alterations veil and tiara came in at nearly 2000 anyway x
I was originally planning on spending less than £1000 but I fell in love with one that's costing £1499 !
I had a grand tops. Ideally I wanted to spend around 600. I said yes to the dress without knowing the price. It was £460 so was well chuffed xx
I set 1000 for mine my first choice was 1200 but I've just brought an ex sample dress for 250 and I'm in love with it ❤
Budget for me was around £1000, a friend told me about an ex stock/previous years stock place and got my dream dress for £350
Mine was free. I'm wearing my mums
My budget was 1500 but went over dress costing 2200 but on the day I went in got 5% discount so only had to pay 2000 for it but I also bought my dress in the month of August and girl told me that anyone who bought a dress in august would be entered into a draw to win £500 off wedding dress and guess what... I won meaning Im now only paying 1500 which was my budget to begin with absolutely delighted 👰
My original budget was £300 - but found my dress for just under £500 in the end, which included alterations. I really couldn't justify spending any more on something I got to wear a couple of times - preferred to spend more on our honeymoon.
Ever since I can remember I have always wanted a pair of Christian Louboutins. My budget has therefore gone on my shoes rather than my dress. My dress however has been handmade to order and has cost £258 and I could not be happier
I had a very tight budget of around 200 got the dress from eBay brand new at £80 and with alterations I have spent £185
£40 eBay, wouldn't of changed it for the world! It was perfect x
So my budget was £600 because of the dresses in wed2be but I didn't get the butterflies with any of them so we went to a different shop and I got a dress for £899 instead! Oops! But it's worth it ;-)
Funnily enough mine was £1200 (before alterations) and I had always thought I didn't care about the dress and I'd just buy the cheapest one... But I just loved my dress too much to say no.
My budget was £1000 for everything; dress, veil, shoes ect... I went way over budget & spent £1,400 just on my dress & my bloody veil was £400! but it's well worth it when you find THE dress it's hard to say no xx
Set my budget for £500 then changed it to £1000.
Got my dress & accessories from wed2b all for about £850. I need slight alterations but should only be about £70-100
So under my top end budget x
I got mine from wed2b. Dress was £599. Got my dress, belt, veil, underskirt and a dress bag for £843. Alterations were £100 which all came under my budget of £1000. Got so many compliments on my dress and people couldn't believe how little it cost compared to how it looked x
Wed2b for mine! 599 & worth every penny
<£200, but I'll be making it myself from vintage linens so it will be a lot less. It's not important for me to have the big white dress, I'd rather spend the money on something else.
the first time I borrowed one the second time my budget was £500 got one for a lot less and was very happy with it
Mine was technically on budget but as I paid in full I got 10 percent off
I had a budget of £500 I look around I like some but was over budget then went to wed to be and found the one for £599 so just a little over but can live with it
I wasn't even looking for mine jon pye was selling them off for a company that had gone bust should of been 1600 paid 150 so well under my budget
I paid £180 for mine from Stacees. It's beautiful custom made so it's a perfect fit. It's worth around £800. Worth a look for anyone on a tight budget. Ordering my bridesmaids dresses from there also 😃
I had budgeted 500 just because I didn't see the point in paying loads for a dress for 1 day. I bought mine for 800 because it was in sale that day and was u touched and it looked stunning. I would say to always look at the price before trying because you might fall in love with one that is too expensive and trying one in your budget after just won't look or make you feel as good.
I didn't want to spend a fortune on my dress as I thought I'm only wearing it for one day! So I went to Wed2b and tried in loads and didn't like any of them. Went to a couple more boutiques and eventually found 'the one' at £1200 way more then what I wanted to spend but It's what I love xx
