Do you buy the bridesmaids dresses, shoes etc or do they buy themselves?...

When I was a bridesmaid I brought everything. She is now my bridesmaid and she is happy to pay for her stuff. My sister does not have a huge amount of money so I will contribute towards her dress and shoes

I'm buying mine their dresses and paying for their hair and makeup. I've asked them to pay for their own shoes

If you pick the dresses etc you pay for them, i think its distasteful to ask someone to pay for something you want.... if they pick their own i think its ok to ask them to pay

When I was my sisters bridesmaid she paid for my dress and shoes and I paid for hair nails make up etc myself and my sister is now my bridesmaid with the same deal lol xx

I really really think that if you want bridesmaids you should pay for there dresses. You really don't have to pay a fortune for them. X

I paid for dresses! They all used shoes they already had as I didn't want to dictate footwear as it's not nice if it's uncomfortable!

I have brought the dresses and paid for hair and make up. I have said they can put what ever they like on their feet as they are long dresses. If they had been short dresses I would have brought the shoes as well.

I think it's ok for them to pay if you're going to go cheap. If you want proper bridesmaid dresses from a boutique though I think that you should pay as it's unfair to your bridesmaids as it's so expensive

I bought everything apart from the shoes, they bought their own so they could choose what they wanted, thats y am only having 2, so I could afford to pay for them

We paid for everything. After being asked to be someone's bridesmaid previously and then receiving a text asking how is was going to be paying for the £150 dress I hadn't even seen. My feeling was that she had chosen the dress, I wasn't allowed to see it until the fitting day so why should i pay for it.
Although my bridesmaids had full choice of their dresses, shoes etc I felt it was only right that We paid for it.

If you've asked them then you should pay unless you already discussed this when asking or they have offered. I'm paying for my bridesmaid dresses but saying they can wear their own shoes.

I brought my bridesmaids there dresses but have said they must buy there own shoes x if there a true friend it should be easy to say if your finding it difficult to approach the subject then re-think your bridesmaids! Xx

I've bought my bridesmaids dress but as I am on a budget I got them off amazon and they are gorgeous. I'm going to ask them to buy the shoes as they can wear them after the wedding x

My h2b sister offered to buy her own as she's knows we're on a tight budget and I'm hoping my sister in law will too but I'm going to buy my friend's one as she bought mine when I was her bridesmaid

I'm buying our bridesmaid dresses; they have a choice in the dress they wear but we will still pay for it. Will be a cheapy off amazon as we have younger children involved in the wedding party too and think it would be great if we are all in the same colours.

That's our choice so it's only right we pay!

My sister brought her dress, it would of been us but i fell pregnant (was 5 months when i got wed)
