I'm thinking of putting a little note or poem in with the invitation asking people to RSVP as soon as possible because if they can't come there are others that would like their place. I also thought I might ask them to reply with their e-mail to in case there are any last minute changes as I don't have e-mail addresses for all my friends.

I personally have always been appalling at rsvping to everything in the past! But always aimed to do it on time, just very last minute. I just hope none of my friends and family will be the same when I send out my invites as I'll need to know menu choices to tell the venue in advance!

I told everyone rsvp by 16th sept. I dont get married till 25th november. Truth is it doesnt matter what date u put on, there are always going to be ppl who dont rsvp. Its annoying and i think rude but it happens. Ive told everyone of they havnt told me either way by the deadline they wont be going! End of. I wouldnt stress about it as its out of ur control. The most important ppl will be there =) xx

Surprisingly many people we invited never rsvp'd

There will be people you have to chase for a response. Not everyone sees the importance like you. I also had people pull out the evening before the wedding. Nothing I could do at such late notice. So if it happens just think f it and don't let it ruin your day x

Some of my guests have booked staying in the hotel so I take it they're coming! I'm planning on sending a menu as we have a choice of 2 options and asking if they have any food allergies etc. I assume they will let me know then if they're coming or not!

Same many people we invited didn't get back to us and we had to go through other family to find out if they were even coming.

I find it rather odd to not rsvp. Maybe last minute or on the due date but to not rsvp at all, surely that just shows that they aren't really bothered about coming 🤔

Put and envelope with rsvp in so they hav no choice or do it by email or Facebook if u want to save money

Most of my RSVP didn't come back until the last week and some didn't even bother to contact me, I was really annoyed and had to chase them up!

I had 180 invited and people RSVPd a week before the deadline but only because i reminded everyone. They had the invites for around 7 months and my RSVP was a googledocs form so couldn't have been easier x

We sent out 60 and got 11 back! Family are the worst for it-i told them if there was no RSVP then they weren't coming, didn't bother many of them! We had to chase and eventually got answers, there were some who said they needed more time which was fine as long as we knew-we are really limited on numbers so we over invited anyway knowing roughly who would and wouldn't come

Some people don't even reply haha we had to chase a few daytime guests for rsvp and menu choices and evening guests are even worse lol

I know this isn't wedding related but we had our daughter christened last Sunday(3rd) and I had asked for rsvp's by 1st august because the venue has 2 rooms (one holds 40/50 the other holds 130/140) and we didn't know which one to book.anyway by the 1st august we only had 10 ppl rsvp other than immediate family so I booked the smaller room, little by little more said they were coming.by the Wednesday before we had about 50 people so I thought the small room would be enough,by the Saturday morning we had over 90 people attending.i had to go and buy more food as I catered it myself and then ask if I could have the bigger hall for 3 hours before the original people that booked it wanted to use it,it was a nightmare rushing around last minute.i would definately say if they haven't rsvp'd by the time you need final numbers then they arent welcome, harsh maybe but you won't have time to change plans last minute

I sent my invites out with rsvp cards, including stamped, addressed envelopes to make it easy as possible- I still didn't get them all back!! It's inevitable you will have to do a bit of chasing no matter how hard you try. Don't panic though, most venues don't need final numbers until a few weeks before. Just part of planning a wedding!! Expect the worse as Folks are Hopeless !!!! So 1 week after your expected RSVP date just write in your diary to Ring those who haven't replied !!!!!
For example my bridesmaid RSVP on the Tuesday before the Saturday , 4 Days Beforehand ! 😮

I get married a week on Saturday. When we sent the invites out, I put a date on them when to RSVP by, but I think we'd only had about 6 official ones by then! Most of them came in the last 4 weeks lol. Some of my guests told me verbally that they were/weren't coming, which was absolutely fine, but a few 'guests' didn't bother to RSVP at all!
We simply put them down as a "not coming."

Relax!!!! As long as you get them by the date asked. I wouldn't reply straight away. I am super busy so would reply when I could. X

I've given them until the 31st of January to rsvp, need food choices also. Any that don't reply will get the message since you didn't rsvp in time you are no longer coming! Harsh I know but I don't need the added stress

I ended up chasing people up days after the RSVP date. Most people got then back pretty soon but there's always some!
