Hi lots of brides ask them to pay for them :)

I had this dilemma because we had a tight budget, and ultimately decided to pay for the dresses for them. Otherwise I would have been asking my bridesmaids to pay to be in my wedding which wouldn't feel right! Asking them to pay is really common in America though, but if you are going to then just be aware of their budget and go for something cheap. Also, be aware they may want a bigger say in the dress if they're paying for it. Good luck :-)

Plenty of people do ask their bridesmaids to pay for them. I personally think the bride should pay for them since you have asked them to be apart of your day.

I'm paying for my bridesmaids dresses as i think thats the way it should be.

We've paid for them, and the groomsmen suits.
They are keeping them , all accessories and shoes..... and we've decided to buy a small ticket Thankyou to present in the speeches instead
