I am wanting to keep my last name after it married and my h2b's name (my dad died when I was 13 and mum remarried so I'd like to keep the family name going) but I don't want to double barrel it. How can I make so my Maiden name is another middle name and my married name is my surname? Is this even possible?

Hi if you are going to have children you could use for a middle name then :)

I just use my married name when I want and my maiden name when I want.

You have the right to use both.
At work everything is still signed under my maiden name. My dr is the only place where my married name is used and that's so when I was pregnant the baby was reffered to by that.

I've got two last names rather than separating with a hyphen. Almost same effect as having one as a middle name but doing it this way is free as you don't have to then change your first names (incl middle name) by deed poll- just an alternative to going hyphenated

I changed my name by depol, and now have part of my maiden name as a middle name.

My friends who are Spanish have two surnames, not double barrelled but the kids get one of each of their parents names. My other friend is from India and hey use the fathers name as the surname for children. His wife kept her name when they married. It's just different way of doing things so you don't have to stick to what is custom. Names can always be changed by deed poll. You can include in children's names?

I went to school with someone who's middle name was her mother's maiden name if this helps?

My d in l double barrelled her name and my sons. It works well Morgan Thompson. My son also uses the double barreled surname too now

You can change your surname to a second middle name and have your h2bs surname as yours I'm doing the same as my daughter has my surname as a second middle name as well you will need to change it through dipole on the gov website x

If you're in Scotland you can keep it as a middle name with no additional paperwork (as it is already a legal name) in England I think you might need to change by deedpole x
