Stapleford Park had to be on this list. It’s such a unique manor house with an incredible history and many royal links. It was voted in the top 50 wedding venues in the UK by the Independent, with several rooms licensed for weddings throughout the house. St Mary Magdalene Church is on the state grounds and you get a wedding planner to help you plan your perfect day.

2. Chatsworth House, Bakewell

When you envisage a marriage in a stately home, you picture Chatsworth House. The beautiful historic house is set within 1,500 acres of parkland and there are many different options for where you wish to get married. Your menu will be prepared by their chefs using the best local produce.

3. Deene Park, Corby

Deene Park sits in the heart of the Northamptonshire countryside. Your wedding will come with a marquee lined and furnished and set in beautiful gardens filled with topiary and roses. The house itself looks like a castle but its the gardens that really sells this place. It’s so well looked after with a private walled garden, lake views, sweeping parkland and formal gardens.

4. Stoke Rochford Hall, Grantham

This Victorian mansion is absolutely idyllic. From the lavender-filled gardens to the welcoming grand fireplace, everything about this place exudes luxury and dream weddings. The perfect place to walk down the aisle is the enormous orangery attached to the right of the building, and there is room for a marquee.

16th century Grade I listed Rushton Hall was a pretty impressive venue before, but they’ve recently added a stunning new orangery. It’s a purpose-built design for weddings with intricate ceilings, high and beautiful windows, stone floors, plenty of history but also this new modern elegance.

6. Belvoir Castle, Grantham

It’s about time we added a castle to this list! Belvoir Castle is the ancestral home of the Dukes of Rutland and really is a fairytale venue with turrets and towers, suits of armour and plenty of history. There are two stately rooms available for weddings and lakeside marquee options too. You can even have a woodland wedding in a tipi. The best bit – they can fire the Duke’s seven French cannons!

7. Rufford Abbey Country Park, Nottingham

This one really is a hidden gem of a wedding venue. Choose from the Markham Suite or the Talbot Suite and enjoy a wedding day in the 12th century ruins, parkland, woods and formal gardens. They can suit any budget with hot carvery menus through to fine dining. It also comes with a great hospitality team.
