We're having a look at themes for the wedding. We was thinking of having chocolate and blue at the colour theme but having doubts whether these are uitable colours for a wedding. and not sure if they would go with a summer wedding.
has anyone else had these colours to put my mind at ease
CommentAuthorKirky
What kind of blue were you thinking of?
CommentAuthorXLittleMissMe!X
Stop thinking about the time of year and go with what you like the look of. If you like the colours have them. It is your wedding after all!
I personally think that choc and duck egg blue/turquoise look amazing together.
I've got aqua, ivory and gold and the one thing I would say is that sourcing the right shade of turquoise/aqua/duck egg is a nightmare so make sure that you source everything first before you go buying things. I got there in the end with the help of a dress maker but it isn't easy. Then again you can say that with most colours.

I am having Blue! Aqua blue or Tiffany blue, Im not sure what name it goes by now and silver! It is definately a great fun colour and I think it goes with all times of the year! Go for it, you only do it once, do it your way! xx

originally i did just want blue but my sister had blue so though about having chocolate and blue. only think that puts me off from having brown (chocolate) is whether the groom ends up wearing a brown suit or whether he could still wear black
CommentAuthorKaz
Put him in black with a blue waistcoat/cravat or tie and have the bm's in the chocolate with a blue band!

My h2b is having navy suits and they look lush in them. It really goes with the aqua but then we are not having the chocolate. I guess it depends on what balance you want of each colour but my friend recently got married and the men were in chocolate suits and I have to admit they looked amazing.
CommentAuthorLollipop1982
i'd not thought of that. Thats my downfall tbh. i'm useless at getting colours to match.
CommentAuthorXLittleMissMe!X
I'm sure you are not useless. The other way you could do it is to deliberalty mix up the tones of the two colours. That can work just as well.

I think I decided I'm changing my colour scheme last night to include blue too! For months we've been having cadbury purple, but I know deep down H2B wanted a light/turquoise blue (Man City blue - he is a big fan!) and last night it just hit me that we could probably have both! I'd still stick with the idea of purple bridesmaid dresses but incorporate blue in other areas like H2B's tie (but keeping the other men in purple), flowers and then alternate the chair covers etc. I did a bit of a mood board today with the colours and I think it looks ok! I even spotted some cheap ribbons today in the exact colours so I bought them to show H2B when he gets in from work! I'm quite excited about the idea of a new colour, I just hope it works!
Very happy to say I'm now Mrs Keates and loving it!

I've chosen Teal and Ivory and theme of Butterflies, does anyone have any ideas I could use as I'm not the most creative of people!! We will be having the whole day at the same venue, we'll be getting married in a large conservatory which will later be where we will have the wedding breakfast followed by a disco. Really would appreciate any help from you lovely ladies :) xx

if you're having a butterfly theme you could have butterfly shaped invites? or normal invites with butterfly pics/stencils, and if you get those watch your butterflies evolve set's from the tv you could set them free after your ceremony? it's something i'm considering xx
it's been a long hard road, but hopefully we're getting
somewhere :) xx
CommentAuthorMelissaLarner2b
Brilliant idea for the invites, thank you. I did say to h2b about setting free some butterflies (instead of the normal setting doves free!) he didn't really answer me, just gave me a strange look! lol. but I think its a great idea. Have thought about getting some sugar butterflies for the cake decoration, yet to see if I can get them in ivory and teal colour yet but sure it wont be too much of a problem!! x

I started with blue and silver, but my dress has gold on it so that's now in there too. There'll be a few different shades of blue.
30th August 2014 was the best birthday ever.
