HRH Prince Charles and Michael Middleton provide a little support for one another during a nervy time! Meanwhile, Carole Middleton, the Queen and the Duchess of Cornwall gather outside Westminster Cathedral. The mother of the bride wore a sky blue silk dress with short pleated sleeves and pockets created by Catherine Walker. The Queen wore an Angela Kelly primrose dress, the Duchess of Cornwall wore a silk dress with duck egg blue and champagne coat by the designer Anna Valentine.
Prince Harry was nervous-looking best man to Prince William, who was in the dress uniform of the Irish Guards. A little while later, Kate arrived and finally revealed her dress. Kate wore ivory gown with lace applique floral detail designed by Sarah Burton at Alexander McQueen.
Chief Bridesmaid was Pippa Middleton, who looked after Margarita Armstrong-Jones, Miss Eliza Lopes, Miss Grace van Cutsem and Lady Louise Windsor. William didn't look round to see Kate walking down the aisle, but finally afforded himself the chance to look at his bride after Harry whispered "She's here now!"
William and Kate treated 1m people watching live and a TV audience of 2bn to two kisses on the balcony of Buckingham Palace. A flypast by the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight followed.
The couple left in HRH Prince Charles's Aston Martin — tastefully decorated by Harry! The couple's eight tiered cake took five weeks to make. Kate wore a tiara loaned to her from the Queen. William and Kate's wedding photographer was Hugo Bernand.
