There's an August attraction in the air. If you're a bride-to-be frantically finalising your wedding plans — you're not alone, as it seems the majority of brides have got their hearts set on a sizzling summer ceremony this month!

UKbride's latest figures reveal that 1,911 brides are set to wed on Saturday August 20th — the most popular date recorded amongst our 200,000 members. This is closely followed by some 1,279 brides due to tie the knot the following weekend, on August 27th.

A bulk of brides have also settled for a Saturday in September — 1,107 of our members plan to marry on September 10th, whilst 1,090 UKbrides will say 'I do' seven days earlier, on September 3rd.

Amongst those marrying on September 10th are our 'Win a Wedding' victors Rhiannon and Ollie, who will wed in Aberystwyth, Wales.

These figures suggest that despite the cost cutting chance to save up to a third with a mid-week wedding, couples in the current economic climate are still opting to celebrate their weddings lavishly over a long weekend.

In contrast, the least popular wedding dates amongst our 200,000 brides-to-be include the January 4th, and January 23rd — clearly the prospect of a wintry white wedding is not alluring for even those brides wishing to beat their 'January blues.'
