Information For The Grove Cromer
The Grove Cromer is a Country House located 1 mile away from the wonderful seaside town of Cromer on the Norfolk Coast.
The Grove started life as a country retreat for the Barclay and Gurney families, who went onto start Barclays Bank. The house was bought by Bob and Hilda Graveling in 1936 and soon after, rooms were opened up to the public as a place to stay. In 1978, The Grove passed to the second generation of Gravelings; John and Ann took it over, converted the barns into self-catering cottages, and later added an indoor pool. Now, in its third generation, since 2010, The Grove has become one of the best places to eat in Norfolk, using some of the fantastic local produce Norfolk has to offer. In terms of your guests finding somewhere to stay, The Grove offers a wonderful array of accommodation options, including seasonal yurts a shepherds hut. In 2021, The Grove opened a second restaurant/function room in purpose built giant tipis in the grounds called Sundown, which has fast become a great hit with visitors and locals, alike. The Grove is five minutes' walk from the beach and ten minutes' walk from the town.
