Information For RIBA - Royal Institute of British Architects
A Grade II listed Art-Deco building in the heart of London’s West End. With an impressive façade, 3 outdoor terraces, beautiful views across London and versatile spaces for weddings of all sizes.
Opened by King George V and Queen Mary in 1934, RIBA at 66 Portland Place is a beautiful Art-Deco building steeped in history, creating a striking and romantic setting for your wedding or civil partnership. The venue is on a quiet, tree-lined avenue and the grand entrance with large columns and impressive façade will create the perfect first impression.
The location couldn’t be better for a central London wedding venue. In the heart of London’s West End, just a 10 minute walk from the bustle of Oxford Street and 5 minutes from the iconic Regent’s Park, the building is set in the residential and reputable neighbourhood of Marylebone providing an escape from the bustle of the City.
RIBA at 66 Portland Place is an incredibly versatile space and can cater for all your needs; from a dressing room area upstairs in the Aston Webb, to photographs on the grand staircase and a choice of two ceremony spaces before moving into the main party arena. We offer everything from individual room hire to exclusive use of the building at weekends, catering for civil ceremonies, Asian and Jewish weddings and everything in between.
Our principal wedding space is the Florence Hall, which offers plenty of space for dinner and dancing for up to 220 guests or 250 for a seated dinner. With the floor-to-ceiling windows, carved pillars and adjacent outdoor terrace for up to 150, it makes a unique and regal setting for you special day. It is also incredibly versatile and can be dressed to suit all styles; in the past we have had a rotating sushi bar installed as well as a 10-foot tree in the centre of the room.
Opposite the Florence Hall is the RIBA Gallery which works well for the ceremony or reception. This stylish space is flooded with natural daylight and has floor to ceiling windows which look out onto Portland Place. The white walls mean you are playing with a blank canvas so can style your own way.
For a smaller wedding breakfast of up to 22 guests, the Aston Webb room offers a beautiful space. The original leather panelled walls have a vintage feel to them, and the room has a regal and sophisticated ambience.
