Information For Conway Hall
Built in 1929 and Grade II listed, Conway Hall has a rich history and a unique feel, with our wood-panelled Main Hall or atmospheric Library available for your ceremony.
We can also host your reception in our foyer and Main Hall, with catering and the capacity for lighting and entertainment available, which our friendly staff and professional partners can discuss and arrange with you.
We are unique in providing a central London location and a building with character, steeped in history.
The Main Hall is also famous for hosting the longest run of classical concerts in the UK (which started in 1880 at the Society’s previous site), jazz concerts from the 1930s to the 1960s, a rare UK appearance from Muddy Waters and gigs by Crass and The Cure in 1970s, as well as many other concerts, including James Blake and La Roux, and events of all kinds during its 90 year history. Conway Hall opened in 1929 and is named in honour of Moncure Daniel Conway, anti-slavery advocate, outspoken supporter of free thought and biographer of Thomas Paine. Owned by Conway Hall Ethical Society, a charity, we curate, support and facilitate people and ideas that Make Ethics Matter in the world.
