I like to capture a storybook of your day. From getting ready, the intimacy of the ceremony, you enjoying yourselves with your friends, the room before people sit down and all the other small details.

I am a 47 year old female photographer who has been specialising in photographing weddings full time for 12 years. The biggest compliment I get is when people ask me if I am a friend of the couple. This is how I prefer to be perceived – not a bossy, take over your wedding type of photographer.

I’m pleased to see there are more female photographers on the scene these days. Would you or your fiancé want a male photographer capturing you getting ready in your underwear? Would you feel comfortable having a man move hair from your face to make sure a particular shot is perfect? Women notice these tiny but important details brilliantly.

I absolutely love capturing the tears of joy, the laughter, the heart-melting speeches and all the touchy feely moments. This is what your special day is all about. When I am starring down the lens, I am right there with you in that moment and that is precisely one of the reasons I love my job. These precious moments are then captured forever on camera. In my opinion, female photographers are very in tune with all the emotions of the day and the importance of capturing them.
