Information For Cormiston Farm

Cormiston Farm is surrounded by the rolling hills of the Clyde Valley and is family run in a sustainable way.

The barn is hired empty, and you choose how to furnish and decorate the space. We do not have any wedding packages, as each wedding is tailored specifically to requirements. You plan the day, and we help you achieve your own original vision. If you don't want to do the planning yourself, we can put together original ideas that will create a memorable day.
We aim to create a sustainable venue. Hot water and heating for the farmhouse is generated using a biomass boiler. There is a Gaia wind turbine that provides most of the electricity we need, and sometimes more - for export to the grid.
We can also offer a beautiful site for your marquee/tipi from May to September with panoramic views of the Southern Uplands. You don't have to worry about generators for electricity - there is a 63amp 3-phase supply available on the field, which should be plenty for all your requirements.
Glamping and camping are available for your guests in the surrounding fields.

Top Wedding Tips

Before any choice of venue can be made you need an idea of budget. There is always a group of family and friends that must be invited. Count these first and then expand if you wish.

Most brides have a firm view of the type of wedding they would like. Few venues have the ability to match all those requirements, and so there will be a compromise. Be flexible and open minded.

Establish whether you can supply your own caterer, alcohol and other activities. Venues may have a list of caterers that they recommend, or may insist that you use their own caterers.
