Before getting engaged a couple of years ago, I really wanted to try and work in the wedding sector. So I was actually writing on here to see if anyone could point me in the direction of how to start? I’ve been planning my own wedding now for nearly a year and it’s just made me love it even more. I would really like a little bit of advice, on how to get the ball rolling!:)

I know how you feel! I've started taking a floristry course as wedding planning has given me the floristry bug!

Is there a particular area within the sector you wanted to work in since there are a lot of roles and services involved? It is not an easy sector to work in sometimes and can be considered high stress and will involve a lot of weekends. To gain experience you could look for work with an existing company (though the whole events industry has been hard hit with the pandemic). If you already have the necessary skills and experience to provide a service, maybe you just need business know how and could consider starting your own business. You may need to do some volunteering to build up a profile in addition to your own wedding so that there are references and alternative styles? It really depends on what you want to do within the wedding sector.
