I’m getting married 8th October this year (or supposed to be) and my partner and I are in talks with our venue about postponing until next October... there’s too much uncertainty at the moment and we want to be able to have all our guests with us on the day.
We’ve been holding off sending out invitations and feel that we can’t leave it to much longer too!

We've postponed from 29th May to the 29th October, watching and waiting to see what other changes come in over the next few weeks. I fail to see why you can't have a wedding and reception when you can go to the pub and cosy up with 200 complete strangers.

Hello, we're getting married on the 18th Oct. I've emailed the venue and called them last month but received no communication whatsoever, which is frustrating as you all know, final fees are coming up and there is so much uncertainty. We have also got over 100 guests so narrowing down the numbers would be impossible and have family from abroad - it wouldn't be the day we imagined.

Everything is being advised by the government so venues can only accommodate to what they say which leaves us having a hard time organising. We are looking to postpone and find out what options we have.

I know a lot of the weddings from March - June have already been postponed to next year and lots of people who got engaged last year would have booked for 2021, which leaves me to think about what dates they have available and whether our existing suppliers are also free. (something to also consider when postponing).

We said if the wedding does postpone, we would get registered so we are legally married with just our parents and siblings and do the whole wedding next year 2021.

Did any of you girls make a decision?

I’m due to get married on 10th Oct and we are holding out. I do feel like they will lift restrictions further. I do think there will be number caps but if it’s 30 now I’m pretty sure it will increase in Sept/Oct.
There has been lots of backlash regarding the contradictory rules in hospitality so I’m sure we will hear more soon.

We were getting married on 4th July, but we have rearranged to 20th November 2020. I now wish we had postponed until next year!

I believe if we get married in November it won’t be the wedding we wanted as social distancing will be around regardless of numbers.

We just want to be married and I struggle with the fact that we have chosen a beautiful, unique venue not local to us and would be such a waste with limited numbers etc (not to mention the amount of money it would cost even if it’s 50 justto eat) and if we go a head in November, I feel like we might as well just get married at our local registration office and save the money. (I hope I’ve explained myself there)

I would move our wedding until next year but I think the venue is booked so if we postpone it would be until 2022.

I’m in two minds — just get married in November and it not be what we wanted (but at least we would be married) or just wait a couple of years!

I hope you’re all managing better than me.

We are due to be getting married on 21 November , we have resigned to the fact that we can not have the wedding we have planned, and are willing to be flexible if it means our wedding can still go ahead in some form. Our venue are being very unhelpful, we are unable to look at postponing or make any decision with them until the middle of September which leaves us in no mans land with constant worry and anxiety about what scenario they would be willing to go ahead with if the governments advice stays as it currently is
