    Hello,
I'm looking for some advice and help about Save the dates. We're getting married on 30th October 2021 but as many of our friends are now getting engaged and many will in the next year we was thinking about sending save the dates this October/November so people know our date and dont take it. What do people think about this? Should i wait till closer to time or is sending them in October 2 years till the wedding okay? We're just a bit worried someone could take.our date or venue..

Also my OH has invited some of his uni friends but he doesn't seem them very often and as the ceremony room has limited space we decided that their partners would just be invited to the evening. One couple of his uni friend group are getting married this September and they've only invited partners to the chapel and then just to he evening so we thought as other people are doing it we will too so my other question is for the save the dates do I put both of.their names down then when doing invitations send 2 invites or just put the guys name on save the date? Do you think it's okay to ask partners we don't know to come to just the evening? If we invited them all days it would be another £1,500 for people we don't know..

    Thanks!!

    Flo

I think sending them to key people is ok but to send to guests 2years in advance is bit much, after all anything can happen in that time frame
You said about sending them out to stop others choosing that date for their wedding but it wouldn't stop me , there maybe reasons that like you that date works for them & familys.

I would talk ALOT about the date you've chosen & why, that way you will get it into people's brains without them realising lol lol
