    Hi all,

I am getting married is 2021. I’m in between work at the moment so I’ve been using my time to start getting some of the wedding planning done so that when it gets closer to the time, my main big jobs are done and I can enjoy the rest of it.

My mum is naturally very excited that I am getting married. We have been to some wedding fairs together and that was fine. I said that I had concerns about the accommodation at the venue not being available for long enough so we went to look at other places locally that I could get ready. Because I’m starting to have a very bad relationship with my dad, she now thinks that she’ll be getting ready with me and will be coming with me in the wedding car (I don’t even know if my Dad still wants to come in the car). She’s also now started planning my hen do which has put my MOH out. She’s also now saying she will contribute but she wants to pay suppliers direct which my OH doesn’t want as he feels the budget will start to spiral out of control and it will get messy. She’s also now chosen the cars after I indicated I liked some and actually my OH doesn’t so we need to go back to the drawing board.

MOB role really is to provide support and help financially. I feel she’s really starting to go over the top and that she’s almost trying to plan a wedding for her and not for me. How can I nip this on the bud without upsetting her?
