So,

We plan on getting married in ibiza as it has special meaning to us but due to laws there it won't be legally binding. We are fine with that so had planned on having our 'legal bit' a week after on the day of our 'at home' reception party.

Had we got married legally then we still would have had a 'blessing' or symbolic ceremony before the at home reception, again for the people who couldn't be abroad.

We will class the ibiza date as our wedding but my mum thinks we're doing t backwards but I feel if we have the civil ceremony wedding first then it will make ibiza less special.

The way I see it, ibiza day will be our wedding, the civil ceremony will just be legal bit and celebration of our new marriage....

The more i over think it the more I'm unsure...

Anyone ever done this? What was general reaction?

You know what Hun, do what makes YOU happy , we got married in America with just 2guests then had a ceremony here that family etc attended .... that's the one my Mum classes as the "real" date , where as we do the America one as it is legal here .... I'm really not bothered with people view as their date for us , one is legal & one is fun & has meaning

Hi! Me and my husband tried to think of something saving us the money for the civil ceremony. We had like 80 guests. Talk about expenses... We were just sure we want it to be, you know, fun. And finally he came up with this agency - LINK REMOVED -You can choose whatever you like from their base of musicians and do it the way you want it. Check their base of musicians, it's great. It's also affordable as you have not pay extra expenses and you can choose any script you like. We used even decorations from them. So they do wedding entertainment and civil ceremony. So you might want to check them out.
