So. Got engaged 5 days ago - have no idea where to begin with a wedding as I'm the first to be engaged out of my friends!

Looking at Spring/Summer 2020 for a really rough date. Is venue first to lockdown and worry about the particulars later?

Super happy and ready for planning! :)

Congratulations on your engagement and welcome to the site!

To start you off I'd suggest introducing yourself on our newbies thread and having a read of both the forum rules and brides checklist threads all at the top of the forum.

Once you've had a read you'll have a better idea of where to start with your planning. Also have a browse of all the official threads to give you more ideas. Feel free to ask any questions no matter how small or simple as everyone has to start somewhere and are here for support.

    Enjoy the planning xxx

Congratulations! We started with the venue and secured our date with the registrar and then fit in everything else around that. Everything that had to be booked was sorted first i.e. photographer, cake, DJ so that we knew we had the 'bones' of the day in place and everything else just kind of fell into place. What I would say is you'd be surprised at how quickly these sort of things book up, so I would secure key suppliers as soon as possible!

we are getting married July 2020. we have been attending local wedding fayres for ideas and searching for vendors etc so we can look about and see what we want and prices of things.
we are pretty much happy with what we are ooking for within our budget.
we will be booking our venue in july this year along with the church. once those are done we can start on everything else
    congrats
