    Hi there everyone!!
So I really have no idea where to start with the 'legal' side. I have my venue and date booked for my wedding next September near Lockerbie, but have no idea what I'm supposed to do next? Neither my husband to be or myself want a religious ceremony but I know we need to arrange the marriage certificate or something and I'm sure it's not this simple.
I feel as though I should know what to do so feel silly asking but really hope that someone can point me in the right direction as I'm so stuck!
    Thankyou

Does the venue have a contact for the local registry office? If not you will need to contact them.

There needs to be a registrar to legalise the marriage and give your certificate etc. There are a couple of meetings you need to go to.

I am having a church ceremony so not 100% sure on the full process. Hope this helps xx

I suggest you start with contacting your local registry office where you live. They will then advise you on what you need to do.

Also, check out our checklist at the top of the forum to help you with your planning xx
