    soo i had my first fitting on saturday. Everything went well, she can do the alterations needed so that's fantastic. but she didn't hint at the cost the whole time. As we were leaving the shop i asked if she could give me an idea on cost so that i can set it aside from the budget but before she answered me we actually got locked inside the shop (with the co-owner of the shop stood outside trying to get in). Once we eventually managed to get out she was too busy checking the door to answer me. Since then I have messaged her on her f@c3b00k page (which is also where i made the appointment) the message has been seen but i still havent got a price.

    I'm really wanting to know because what if she starts the work and I can't afford the cost! I don't want to seem too pushy by asking again though as I have already asked twice now.

    Sorry for the long post any advice is appreciated

    I wouldn't leave it any longer than a week - if she hasn't responded by Friday then I'd give her a nudge - there will be far pushier brides than you that she's used to dealing with so don't worry on that front! At the end of the day your wedding is in 2 months and you need to know whether you need to look elsewhere for a cheaper quote or not.

    thanks Loz, that's what I'm thinking, she kind of just assumed I was ok with her doing it and took it. I mean i'm sure she will do a fantastic job but other things are needing to be paid as well so i need to know what money is going where x

    thanks :) i think i'll send her a quick message today or tomorrow if she hasn't gotten back by then. I'm waiting to pay my honeymoon off and it's depending on the cost of the alterations! aha x

    Hi everyone, just looking for a little more advice, it's been a week and two days now since my dress fitting and I still haven't had a quote. I messaged the lady again today at 10:30 this morning explaining that I have a lot of payments due so a price would be helpful to budget currently, she responded within a minute asking for my surname, I replied right away and have not had another reply since. I'm starting to get a little concerned now, am I over exaggerating or should I be pushing more? Thanks

    If it was me I would be looking at going else where for alterations as most shops give you a rough estimation instantly- just seems odd

    sunday went perfectly the dress has been altered beautifully, and she says she can alter it again if i decide to lose some more weight. My dress doesn't need to be made any shorter so that's perfect, although my hoop is collapsing under the weight of my dress so I need to get some hoop metal to reinforce it!

    my next fitting isn't until 2 weeks before the wedding, can't believe it's all happening so quickly now x
