    hi all
I'm just wondering how many of you are getting married for the 2nd time, and how different is it going to be ?
I'm now 44 and finally met my dream man, were having a church wedding with bells and organist (not y idea :)) then a swanky reception at a hotel afterwards, with a 3 course wedding breakfast, my wedding dress is totally amazing, the brides maids are gonna look awesome although I'm slightly dreading the wedding pics, lol but then my daughters wouldn't be mine if they didn't pose the way they do, unlike my 1st wedding at a reg office and a do after above a pub lol
were just about 3 months away from the big day now, so excited every things all in place, how's every one else's planning going ??

It's my 2nd time too, but 1st for H2B. We are having a church wedding as it's important to me and also because I want to make sure that h2b gets the proper wedding experience. Everything is pretty much done just little bits like flower girl shoes to buy.

    Hi Donna,

I'm getting married for the first time next year but my mum had a 2nd wedding. She had a lovely stately home with both the ceremony and reception there, it was the perfect day she had always wanted with the man who truly made her happy. 3 months is not long to go at all how excited you must be.
We have everything booked and are buying little bits in at a time. I'm really looking forward to the day.

Good luck with your day <3

I got married for the second time just over 4 1/2 years ago now. It was totally different to my first wedding. Much much bigger, more expense was paid towards it, but it was not over the top bigger, did still make a lot of cut backs and savings.

I am getting married for the first time but just to add another perspective.

OHs grandparents are married but it was second time for his grandad. His first wife died very young. His nana now regrets not having a "white" wedding. She realises not that her husband doesn't and didn't really care about it so she could have had what she wanted.

Why not have a big second wedding. If it is what you and your OH want then there is nothing to stop you. It is your day.

I'm going to be getting married for the 2nd time in 2-3years time to my complete and utter soul mate who has helped me through so much this past year. My first marriage broke down after i found out that he was cheating on me with someone else and had been for a whole year before i found out anyway my first wedding wasn't exactly what i wanted so this time around we're going to do it how i want and i will be getting my dream dress and going to an actual bridal shop to try on dresses which i didn't do first time round. At the moment i'm feeling really positive about getting another chance to be the bride i want to be but that could all change when the time is actually here to go and try on dresses and plan the whole thing properly although i have been browsing pinterest for ideas.

This will be my second marriage.

My first was when I was 21 and very formal ... in church with beautiful dress and the men all in dress suits. I always say it was the day that hell froze over as it was officially the coldest day of the year for a very long time. I completely cut the number of my friends invited to save costs because of my Mother's whining but then she went and invited lots of people that she felt 'should' be invited, i.e. her friends. That marriage lasted just short of 15 years.

I subsequently believed 'once bitten, twice shy' but my OH popped the question a few weeks ago and I couldn't believe how happy it made me. We are getting married next year and now I'm beginning to wish it was sooner.

This time, I will 61 and we will be having a relaxed bo-ho wedding in the registry office with the reception in our garden ... maybe ours and maybe a lovely one on offer from friends. My son will be giving me away and my daughter will be MoH. Friends galore are so excited for us they are coming up with offers of large gazebos, the photographer, lots of offers of help and generally pitching in to make things wonderful for us. I am just waiting for the courier to deliver a dress I ordered on-line and getting slightly nervous as to whether it will look as good as I hope. Meanwhile, back to planning how I am going to seat and feed at least 70 people on a budget (more than likely a pig roast and accompanying BBQ). Oh well, I have almost a year to get things together ... but the most wonderful thing is that we are affirming our feelings and commitment to each other.
