    Any advice on where I stand on this one.... I'm so angry and upset! OH purchased my ring from H.s@mu@l around Jan 2016. Received in March. It was a tiny bit tight so I went in to get it resized. Forward a few weeks I noticed a hairline crack and thought it may of been where they resized it and the white gold plating had come away. Well today it's completely split in half!!! My OH has the invoice from them proving he purchased and I have a text on my phone telling me to collect the ring once it was resized. Surely it's not fit for purpose if this happens?! Gutted is an understatement :-( what are the chances of them fixing this?

    Yes I Woukd say as its only been a year- cheap rubbish- reason why I never go to a chain as they are just not good quality- surely warranty should cover, if not insurance

    How long is the warranty for? Have you got it insured? I'd take it back to the shop ans insist on a new ring to replace it. No ri g should break like that. Especially after only a year no matter what you pay for it.

    Have to say though? I had a massive issue with that exact same company many many years ago when I bought a ring for my sister and it broke after she'd worn it less than 15 times. I got so much grief and rudeness from the shop assistant when i went to ask for a replacement that I walked out totally dissatisfied, no refund or exchange so I called their company HQ, within hours the Area Manager phoned me, deeply apologetic and ordered the store manager to give me a replacement. When I went back to the store they were so so so nice to me it was obvious they'd got a massive 80110cking and they gave us a more expensive ring in exchange for no extra cost. I've never bought any jewellery from them since.

    So don't take no for an answer! Good luck. Let us know how you get on.

    i again would take it back to the shop. i've not heard too many good things about h s4mu4l tbh. definitly take it to the manager and dont take no for an answer, especially when your day is so close xx

    but if they wont take it back it should only cost about £15 for a jewlers to fix it (h2b just had a totally cracked gold ring made bigger and sealed back together) xx

    All sorted! They have ordered me a new ring. The shops manager was so apologetic! Says it was a fault in the ring. Should arrive in the next few days! X

    Just to reassure you Claire, my engagement ring was from them and it's been fine. The only issue was my fault, when I caught it on a door handle and it bent slightly. They fixed it under the warranty and I haven't had a problem since. My wedding ring wasn't from them as I have my great-grandmother's ring, but my husband got his wedding ring there and that has been fine.

    Just a quick update - I got my ring back and I think they have changed the design on it slightly. The actual ring band looks thicker to me... maybe the design wasn't sturdy enough as the band was really delicate! The service I've had from the store manager has been fantastic. No cracks and I doubt it will have that problem again with the design change x
