When we registered our son (jan 2016) we were told that if we got married we would have to re-register our sons birth. I have just looked on the government website and it says if the parents marry after the child is born they are required to re-register the birth to have the natural father’s details added to the birth record.
My H2B is already on the birth certificate and I signed papers giving him full parental rights, so do we still have to re-register his birth after our wedding ?

You don't have to no. The only reason for doing so is if you want your name to show on his birth certificate as your new married name - otherwise it can just stay as it is :)

Hi It is a legal requirement to re-register a child whose natural parents marry each other after the child was born. It does not change the legal status of any of the parties involved, but you are none the less required to do it. The new birth certificate proves that your child is now legitimate. Hope that helps!
