Hi guys, so currently I'm on a bit of a rant with the options for our evening buffet.

Our wedding breakfast is late afternoon, I have been toying with the idea of maybe a simple BBQ or something?
The venue automatically have added bacon butties to our contract which I ain't sure I'm happy with!
What have you guys chosen as a splurge or budget option??

We had our wedding breakfast at 4pm and then had a buffet in the evening which was served at 9pm.

Do you know if your venue do BBQs? They should have a list of options that they can provide you with. A hog roast is always a popular choice and bacon butties do also go down a storm.

We just wanted to keep it simple and let people pick at food as and when they wanted, so a buffet was ideal for us.

Our evening buffet is bacon sarnies & chips which I love the idea of as I'm really fussy with my food. We can upgrade if we wish to the usual finger buffet but I'm never really a fan of them as I feel lots of food get wasted. Last couple of weddings I have been too there is has either been bacon/sausage sarnies or hog roast so don't think you can go wrong with them. It can get pricey the more items you want to add to your buffet. Does your venue have a list of suggested options? x

We're having an afternoon tea at about 4pm and a hog roast in the evening, which we think is always a popular choice and works out at quite a budget option x

For ours we had bacon butties, sausage butties and chips. Loads of guests said it was the best evening buffet at a wedding they ever had lol. Our only problem was we ordered wayyyy too much there was so much left over as the venue put out tonnes of sandwiches etc too that we weren't expecting

Have you spoken to the venue about making changes? I had a similar issue with them adding food that I didn't want and met with them and made changes at no extra cost

We had a BBQ for ours .. it was quirky and quite a 'new' thing to do at a wedding so a lot of people really enjoyed it; appart from those who were served red raw burgers though!? My guests think the chef must have served from the raw meat pile for a bit accident .. argh!

Depends when you get married and if your venue has outdoor lighting too... we asked for a BBQ in April last year they said yes then our wedding was the end of September .. because they said yes we assumed they had outdoor lighting but guests said it was pitch black so something to ask if you do go that way

With our venue we get a 6 buffet choice, things like wedges, mini pizza, bacon sarnies, to be honest at a wedding people will eat that sort of thing after a few drinks- I don't think people expect a big buffet feast anymore, especially if they have eaten at the wedding breakfast-

Our venue has said to cater for 75% of guests but they have said if certain items are a hit they will put more out fir us
