Is it feasible to have a wedding without a band or DJ? We would still have background music of course. Neither myself or my partner are into dancing and to be honest I can't imagine any worse than a first dance. We plan on having a summer fate theme with games etc but will that be enough to entertain people? I'm interested in people's opinions. What could we do to make sure everyone is entertained without a DJ or band? Is it possible?

If you don't want dancing, then don't have dancing. :-) IMO fete games like a coconut shy, splat the rat and a bouncy castle sound waaaay more fun anyway. :-D

My only thought is how late do you want it. How many people would want to be playing games all night but my second thought was that it would get people playing the games more so why not!
I think as long as there us some background music you will be fine xxx

Awww no do you what you want hun. Ive spent so much time worrying about everyone else ive forgotten why we are getting married in the first place. Its crazy. Oooohhh you go do one of those silent discos for the people who want to dance. :-D
It depends what sort of day you are having and how late, do you have evening guests, do you have guests that like dancing? If people don't like dancing etc, just stick IP0d on so there is background music, people can chat and play games - it's your day, do what you feel suits you and don't fall into of 'it's normal at a wedding to have xxx'

My fiancée and I love music and dancing, but not everyone is the same, so go with what suits you. Your idea sounds like so much fun, and I'm sure your guests will be talking about for years to come!

We are having a late afternoon ceremony so by the time photos and food is done there won't be a lot of time and it won't be a late wedding as a lot of the guess (including ourselves) have young children. I'm sure some of the guests would like to be able to dance but I'm hoping we can entertain them without them needing to. A jukebox might be a fun alternative.
