    Hi everyone,

    It's been a while since I posted as I'm now over a year since I had my wonderful day! We've had a great year with a lot of ups and downs but we are very happy moving forward as a married couple

    So now I'm going to other weddings as a guest which is great but I'm not sure what to do as a wedding present for this one particular couple;

    I was a school friend of the bride and we left school in 2006 so quite a while ago and in that time we've never met up and I've not met the groom (not that this is a problem) but she's invited us to her evening do. It's left me in a quandary as to what to do for a wedding present as I'm not sure what either of their tastes are. So my question is what is an appropriate type present in this situation?

    Any advice would be great please!

    We went to an evening wedding reception for an old school friend of mine. We just popped £50 in a card so they could put it towards something. Equally I had evening guests who didn't give us anything!

    Yes I woukd say just some cash in a card- I know it's not thoughtful but I woukd rather give cash than buy a present that they might not like xx

    If they don't have a gift list, then cash on a loaded credit card

    In all honesty we can't afford £50 or cash and they already live together I think so household stuff is out.. Gift card is an idea though! Any other ideas present wise? I haven't been sent an invite just a FB group invite so I don't really have anything to go on...

    Mm something like a picture frame? You can buy cheaper ones that look more expensive? Can't think of much that doesn't cost a lot of money- what's your budget?

    How about a bottle of something? Doesn't have to be champagne, even just a nice wine and pop it in a gift bag.

    Could you ask on the fb group if there is a gift list to give you ideas? X

    Having just had our wedding party last night and invited some people on both sides that we haven't seen in a long time, we have had quite a few bottles of something, plus cards.
    You could still put money in a card, it doesn't need to be £50 I would probably put in £20 if I was doing that.
    A gift card for Ik3@, @rg0s, the orage DIY store etc will always be useful. Or maybe for some where that does nice food such as M&5, w@itr0se so they can treat themselves to a nice meal for the 2 of them?

    I would say a picture frame. You can pick them up easy enough and is an appropriate present xx you could even get a pic of the 2 of them off fb and put it in it x

    I would ask on the Fb event whether there is a list possibly if you wanted something more specific.

    picture frames are a great idea, they will want to display their new photos and you can get some lovely ones from places like P0und 5tr3tch3r and b@ndM B@rg@in5 that look like they cost much more than they do x
