Hi. My H2Bs father passed away very recently and we have rescheduled our wedding for in 3 months time. Looking for ideas of what we can do to remember him on the day. It will be a hard day as it is but unsure how to include him. I am worrying for my future MIL and things like the top table sitting without him. How did people get around these hurdles? Any advice would be much appreciated. Please be kind xx

Im very sorry to hear of your loss.
I dont have my Dad with me on our big day either, I have a small 2 inch photograph pinned to my bouquet. Its my way of including him in the big day.

Have you asked your MIL if she would be happy to sit on the top table, possibly have a photograph of your FIL by her side? Maybe even write your own speech for your MIL and H2B just say a few words in his memory etc.
    xx

We are setting up a table with photos of our loved ones who cant be there on our wedding day and have a memory poem that we have written to put by it,

Maybe at the top table have a photograph of him and some words written by yourself and OH to remember him.

If you have a traditional top table, your mil wouldn't be next to FIL. She would be next to your dad and best man x

My mum wont be with me on my big day. I'm also having a picture in a tiny frame attached to my bouquet and also having her ashes made into jewellery in my colours for the day as well. You could have a memorial candle and a picture of him, xx

We lit a candle during our ceremony to remember the people no longer with us. Their names were in our order of service. It was a nice way to include them. X

I think a table of photos of all the loved ones who couldn't make it is lovely, to me I think a place setting with a photo is odd but you have to do what's right for your family- it will be emotional but they will be looking down - big hugs xxx

sorry to hear. I lost a sister and my hubby lost a brother. We had a little tanks set up with a beautiful box frame saying when feathers appear angels are near with white feathers in it and their names. Then we had a picture of them in frames on either side of it. I also had a brooch bouquet with a picture of my sister. Maybe your OH could pin one on the inside of his jacket?

My SIL's father died a couple of months before she married my brother. His photo was at the front among the flowers, and he was mentioned a number of times. There was a strong feeling that he was there. Her elder brother gave her away, and when the question 'who gives this woman?' was asked, he stood and said, 'on behalf of my dad, and my mum, I do'.

30th August 2014 was the best birthday ever.
It was the day that I became Mrs. Dixon.
