Hi, I am a size 16 women who suffers with polycystic ovaries. This make it difficult for me to loose weight, it also at times results in me having acne and have a little more facial hair than normal. I love my wedding dress but sometimes I worry I will look awful on my big day. There aren't many pictures of myself that I am happy with. When I see pictures of other brides, mainly people i know, I think they look stunning but I am scared people won't think the same about me. I know I shouldn't really worry what other people think but I have never onsidered myself as beautiful, I have always classed myself as below average and i don't think I will feel any better on my wedding day. Has anyone else felt like this and how did you get over it?

KayleaC, who cares what anyone else thinks. Your other half obviously thinks you are beautiful, and who else do you need to please on your wedding day apart from the two of you.

    NEVER PUT YOURSELF DOWN

Believe in yourself and your beauty. I'm sure everyone will think you are beautiful and that you will look even more so on your special day. x

Looking forward to becoming the 3rd and last Mrs McLauchlan

I completely agree with Maxine! Please don't put yourself down and please believe in yourself.
You are marrying the man you love and that's what matters. Not sure if this helps you, but I'm also a size 16 with DD chest so I do feel big in a lot of clothes lol. However, on my wedding I felt wonderful, my hubby said he was overwhelmed when he saw me, thought I looked amazing (and I felt it when I saw his face ). I'm sure you will feel the same way on the day, your h2b will think you're gorgeous no matter what, I'm sure xx

Bless you. Rest assured that all of us worry we won't look beautiful on the day at some point. I hate having my photo taken coz i always think I look terrible in them. This very evening I plucked 3 hairs from my chin, well one of my chins lol and I'm currently battling the wine belly I have spent the last few years cultivating. I just remind myself that H2B sees me without make up when I'm slobbing in my pj's and he still loves me. On our wedding day I'm gonna look 100 times better than that delightful vision ;) It will be no different for you. You WILL look and feel beautiful. Promise.

You are beautiful in yourself no matter what.

On your day you will feel fantastic. Your dress will have been perfectly fitted to you and you will have had your hair and makeup done all lovely. You will feel a million dollars and it will shine out of you.

Who cares if you cant loose weight. 1 - its due to a health condition so nothing you can avoid and 2 - your OH loves you and thinks you are beautiful just the way you are.

Take care and don't put yourself down xx

What do you think is beautiful?
Your husband to be thinks YOU are and not only does it only matter what he thinks but it has to come from you too.
Your husband is marrying YOU, not some stick think mannequin with hair extensions and fake boobs.
Confidence is the most beautiful thing about any woman or man and if you go out there with a huge smile on your face and tell yourself your beautiful that confidence will shine through you like sunbeams.

My BM has Pco and she suffers with the same confidence issues, but with people making a fuss of her on the day, like hair and makeup and a nice new dress I know she is going to feel fab.
Youre about to marry the man you love and he-you. Enjoy it. Have fun. Smile but most of all have Confidence! :-))) xxxxx

BTW I looked at your profile pic and I think your blooming gorgeous xx

Beautiful is a state of mind and has nothing to do with whats on the outside.

If you carry yourself with confidence and walk into the room thinking/acting like you are the most beautiful woman there then people wont start looking for the bits you dont like (oh and it has the added advantage that you will look both taller and slimmer)

I know its hard (also a size 16 PCOS sufferer here with boobs that need scaffolding to support them) but the best advice I was ever given was to fake it untill you become it!

Thats not fake it untill you make it, but fake it untill you believe it and embody it! its a total mind state change.

Believe that you are beautiful, walk into that room with your shoulders back and standing tall its amazing just how different you will look even if you just act confident/sexy. It will initialy feel strange and wrong, feel fake but eventualy it becomes second nature and then one day you just have a revelation that you have become what you were originaly faking!

as an aside have you seen a dermatologist recently? they may be able to help you with quick or temporary fixes just before your wedding (they generaly need 12 weeks before your wedding). A good makeup artist will be able to hide a multitude of flaws.

Dont worry about the hair, just make an appointment with a salon a couple of days before your wedding and get waxed from head to foot, problem solved at least temporarily!

Aww bless. Everyone has things they don't like about themselves. I have a lot of insecurities but on my wedding day I felt brilliant and I'm sure you will too. My hubby said I took his breath away which was lovely, I'm sure your hubby will feel the same

Thanks everyone. I don't think it helps that my h2b has been married before. In fact my parents and i were invited to the reception. His ex wife was absolutely stunning and always looked glamourous. Her hair was alway pristine and her face flawless. With two young kids i always just put my hair up in a messy bun and i din't like wearing make-up all the time as it affects my skin. I know he loves me but he not good at expressing his emotions. He is not a fan of romance and flattery. I love him with all my heart and wouldn't change a thing about him, but I just hope he does think I look beautiful even after nearly nine years together.

I have always been a wall flower and blended into the background compared to my siblings. Almost every time somethjng is about me the limelight is always taking away from me, on purpose or unintentionally. I was absolutely fine a little while ago but with 10 weeks to go I am starting to panic. The worst part was trying my dress on st the seamstress while other stick thin brides tried on their dresses, it didn't exactly fill me with confidence.

I know I am being stupid deep down i am just scared I am going to fade into the background once again.

I agree with everyone else, there is no way you will be a wallflower, you will be stunning and have a fabulous day. Your not being stupid we all have days like this, take this morning for instance I had to rush 3 children down to the school bus when i got there all the other mums were in pretty little sundresses, sunglasses perched daintily on their head, hair and make up flawless, me on the other hand hadn't got any make up on, big bags under my eyes from no sleep, my hair literally is a birds nest as i didnt have time to brush it (i have an autistic daughter so i spend hours every morning trying to get her ready for school) i had my pj sweats on and a vest top which had kids breakfast cereal stuck to it (my daughter decided it would be funny to throw it at me) I felt and looked an absolute mess, I've learnt over the years to try to ignore them and often think to myself if they had the difficulties i have to face on a daily basis they wouldn't look to great either! So maybe next time you feel this way imagine how different they would be if they had the same difficulties as you. You are beautiful inside and out and don't let no-one make you believe any different x

You'll be stunning, all brides are...because the love and happiness shines through.
Facial hair can be removed, acne can be covered up, your dress will fit you perfectly, and you'll marry the man who loves you/you love.

Ask your photographer for more natural photos rather than staged ones, they'll catch you unaware in real situations and you'll look natural rather than uncomfortably smiling at the camera.

I had so many fears that I wouldn't look right, or hate the photos. But I'm so proud of them. I'm a plain Jane in everyday life, with excess dark facial hair, patchy skin with redness. But my wedding photos show a me I've never seen before.

You WILL be a fabulous bride!
