So I've just received a quote from a hairstylist to do hair for myself, my mum and 3 bridesmaids. It's nearly £400 which i think is absolutely ridiculous. We're already going our wedding budget by quiet a bit so I want to try and save money where I can.

I went to university with my bridesmaid's and always did their hair on nights out. Would it be weird if I did their hair on the day? I understand I'd have to work it around the times of me getting ready, but I think it's possible. Am I being naive in thinking that I wouldn't really be doing much on the morning of my wedding?

Personally I really wouldn't want that much stress and stuff to do myself the morning of my wedding.

I agree with IDL. It's a lot of pressure the morning of. Can they do their own?

It might be a bit of extra pressure you don't need on the morning, but that all depends on you and how confident you are that you'll be able to do theirs and have yours done as well.

Definitely shop about for more quotes that's expensive. But I agree with the others, you won't want the stress of it on the day you will want to relax and take everything in

I personally wouldn't want to be doing that on the morning of the wedding... you may not have much to do in terms of physical things, but I would feel really stressed out and pressured if I knew I had to do that. Can your bridesmaids do each others? I have asked my bms to do each others and they are really happy with that - we had a practice night a couple of weeks ago and are having another in a couple of weeks so that they feel 100% comfortable doing it on the day. I've not got involved with the practicing - just an onlooker - as I know I won't be wanting to get involved at all the morning of the wedding.

A friend of a friend did her bm hair and make up on her wedding day, I asked if it was stressful (as my friend was bm) she said it was so relaxed. I think it is the type of person you are. If you get stressed (which I know I do) then perhaps it would be best to get some more quotes, if you are a laid back person and will have enough time, I would go for it. Perhaps do a trial run first see how it goes. xx

When I got married previously I done my daughters hair and found it quiet calming as it took my mind off other things. If you think you can do it then go for it. You could also look around for a better price. Have you thought about contacting your local college that does hairdressing and see if you could get someone from there and get a trial done to put your mind at rest. xx

I was MoH for my best friend and we did our own hair/each others. It was only us and her mum getting ready so was relaxing and quite good fun

If you can do it and you have time then go for it :) hopefully you don't have a ceremony too early or else it might be a push. If i could do hair i would definitely consider doing it myself x
