So I'm stuck on what to do re: thank you gifts, and also who to give them to.

My mum and dad are a given because they have helped so much with the wedding and just life in general. I've found somewhere that will put photos on the inside of a clutch purse so I'm going to put one of me and my mum on the inside of that and I'm also looking for a necklace for her so mum is sorted.

I have no idea what to give my dad. I'd like to do something similar to the bag really that's personalised for him but I don't have the faintest idea what?? And then some cufflinks so he has something to wear on the day that I gave him and to keep.

Then we have my 3 bridesmaids. They are 1 very very close friend, 1 good friend, and one friend who is my brother's partner. In the nicest possible way, they haven't really done anything (other than wear a dress and walk up the aisle and get ready with me - and just to add I'm paying for their hair, makeup, and accommodation) to be thanked for but I still think it would be nice to give them something. I make candles occasionally, so I was thinking of a personalised scented candle each, a personalised champagne glass that I will DIY individually to people's style, and a mini bottle of champagne/prosecco in a thank you gift box. Does that seem like enough? Would you add anything else? I was originally going to put a costume jewellery ring or something in there as well but to get something that's still nice was over £10 each and across 3 of them started to add up just as a token gesture (I've been made redundant and am currently on maternity leave so money has become a bit more tight that I would like -.-)

I then have a best man, and would like to do a similar token for him. For my partner's best man, who has done SO much for him, organising his stag do, and is coming over from Sweden to be here, and coming early to help us with any last minute bits, I want to do a thank you box with a small whiskey, personalised hip flask, couple of cigars and some beard oil that I will have made. I'm thinking for my best man (who I don't think would appreciate the cigars, and also whilst he is a very close friend and I want him with me on the day he hasn't actually contributed to planning or anything) that a small bottle of whiskey, a personalised whisky glass (instead of champagne like the BMs) and then some beard oil would be nice/enough?

There are also 3 other groomsmen - one of whom is a useless just... I've posted about him before. He is a massive flake and hasn't helped with anything. The other two have also barely had contact with OH at all and will essentially be fitted for suits and turn up. This is OH's choice, nothing to do with me, but should I be sorting a gift for these 3? I'm thinking no, and if OH decides he wants to give them something then he can sort it out himself because they're his groomsmen?

Any ideas/opinions would be greatly appreciated and sorry for long post! :) xx

I think all your gift ideas sounds fantastic and certainly not stingy. The beard oil is an inspired idea and I always believe the more personalised the gift the more it means to the recipient. It shows you've put a lot of thought into it. If you make candles then I would definitely do that.
Despite my wedding being over a year away I have already started buying my thank you gifts. My Mum was easy as she loves the jewellery brand H0t D1@m0nd$ so I have brought her a matching earring and necklace set from there plus a gorgeous wooden wall plaque that says "Mum, Today a Bride, Tomorrow a wife, Always your Daughter and Friend for Life."
My Dad is a big whiskey fan so I will be buying him a very expensive single malt. Already purchased some cufflinks for him to wear on the day that are made with wood from whiskey barrels. Also want to have him something made that will be inscribed with the words "Dad, I can't count the ways your love has made a difference in my life." Not sure what that will be yet.
My maids have a silver necklace each with a different animal pendant and an engraved wine glass. The MOH glass is slightly bigger to acknowledge her role. I was tempted to buy something else for them but as I am paying for their dresses, shoes, hair ect I think that's enough. You're so right in that costs can start to spiral if you're not careful.
Page boys are my nephews and they will be 7 & 11 so was difficult to know what to get them. Rather than buy some tatt they won't really want I'm buying them an animal experience where they can hold meerkats and some creepy crawlies.
Just ordered my Flower girl a personalised fluffy unicorn :)
Regards your OH 3 groomsmen then I do feel you should get them a little something but if you can then leave that to your OH to sort out. However if he is anything like my OH he will say he will sort it and then leave it to me to do last minute. Have a back up ready such as an engraved beer tankard. Lots of companies do them at a reasonable price.
I have no idea what we'll be getting our Best Man but I have made a few suggestions. Seen some wooden boxes on £t$y that are engraved with initials, inside is an engraved whiskey glass and penknife. Ultimately that's OH decision though.
I plan to leave a box in the room my OH and bestman get ready in that day. It will contain cigars, shot glasses and alcohol miniatures. Bit of pre wedding dutch courage.
